I especially like that his video shows/emphasizes the need for & use of the zipper pull ring & toggle which insures the zipper pull stays zipped while the tent is pitched in strong gusty winds. Yes, my Enan also has the zipper pull ring & toggle but the pitching video doesn't show & emphasize the importance of the toggle & zipper pull ring. There is another video with a different brand of tent that failed because the vestibule zipper became unzipped while pitched in strong gusty winds. Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada U.S.A.

There are some excellent videos produced by a few great Hilleberg experts, but it is always refreshing to get the information straight from the horses mouth (not that I am calling you a horse, it’s just an expression). You did touch on a few topics that I don’t remember seeing anywhere else, like pitching the inner tent on its own. I took special notes when you demonstrated how to use the tarp with the Soulo, because I had specific questions about that and no one else that I know of has even hinted with that subject at all. 👍🏾

Good comprehensive guide to this great tent..thanks! I'm currently lying in mine in Snowdonia in 50 mph winds...wind whipping water out of the lake nearby...I wouldn't be up here in any other tent quite frankly...and certainly wouldn't be looking forward to a worry free night's sleep in any other...☺️

Pitch order 1. Face short end towards the wind 2. Peg out one end of the tent 3. Put in the long poles first - the RED short pole last 4. Add guy lines - as long as possible 5. Wrap upper guys around poles 6. Clip the outer tent from the bottom upwards (last thing) 7. Add the rain top Footprint Shiny side up. Align logos on tent and footprint - logo face up. Logo next to the door The tension string from the tent is protected from the ground

@@HillebergTentmaker Fair enough. It’s just extremely frustrating to buy the best but not have full access to the fullest capabilities that make them the best. I’ve got nearly $4K in hilly tents and I’m prepared to spend $1k more for mesh inners yet, nothing.

Inside the tent , is there No any pocket for storage and no any hook for hanging my light?

Hello. Yes, there are 2 pockets and webbing loops in the ceiling. You can see those in more detail at 9:05 in the video.

Bl soulo here too in really bad weather would you double peg both guidelines together or would you peg each line separately

The Soulo is very strong as it is, both in the RL and BL versions. If you wrap the guylines around the poles and make sure that the bottom pegs, as well as the guyline pegs, are very securely pegged down, you will be fine just pegging them to the same peg as we do in the video. If you are in very extreme weather you can add more guylines but this is very rarely needed on a Soulo.

Is the soulo bag waterproof for heavy rain?

No, the material itself is waterproof but the seams are not sealed and the opening closes tight but does not seal in a completely waterproof way, if you were to have it out in very heavy rain. If you are packing it on the outside of a backpack, even if it is raining, it is usually not an issue. But if you want it fully waterproof then a roll top bag with sealed seams would be best.
