    One of the most important things Hillary said was that we should not vote for political candidates who say they will not compromise - especially those who wear it as a badge of honour. This is an incredibly important point to make, and it's so rarely made. Gains, especially tough ones, are usually won through compromise. Not compromising is precisely what causes ridiculous deadlock, which impacts the lives of real people everywhere. It's very encouraging to see such a powerful person make this kind of statement as a key philosophical point.

    Exactly right. Back when our politicians were grownups (I’m rewatching the bipartisan Watergate hearings from the 70s), they understood the truth of what you said, and actually got things done.

    The story of Hillary Clinton's mother's resilience and her holding on not to the bad things that happened in her life, but the kindness of others...cherishing the dignity of other human beings. She respects and emulates her mother. That just had an emotional impact on me. Another reason she has my vote. She'll be a great leader for the country and I want her to make history.

    So THIS is where the Clinton supporters are! Hi guys! I am a 19 year old undocumented student living in the big old red state of Texas and a progressive fish flopping around on bare land. I want to thank you for being critical thinkers and engineers at heart and I know you guys don't get as much attention as outrageous, Trump remarks do, but you truly are the power of America and its interdependence on the world. You all make me very proud!

    Even if you disagree with her or even dislike her, I literally dont understand how people are actually considering voting for Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton. Like what kind of country are you even in right now? I was a Bernie supporter prior to the end of the primary, but I appreciate Clinton's intellect and knowledge and diplomacy and how hard she works, and I actually also agree with a few things she believes in more than Bernie actually. PLEASE America i don't care how anti establishment you are or how little you trust that she'll change anything, EVEN if she doesn't change anything (which I don't think is true I'm optimistic), who cares? No change is so much better than an absolute apocalypse.

    not all of TPP is bad for starters. Secondly, if you disagree with someone on 1 thing, it doesn't make their candidacy useless nor voting for them wrong. Donald Trump is also a narcissist and a bigot who believes in deregulating wall street even further, and many people are voting for him for reasons that aren't those listed. Thirdly, I honestly believe some elements of the internet should be censored, or at least monitored in criminal situations.

  • @DavidTMSN

    @DavidTMSN

    +D You're a disgrace and you should be censored by your own logic. I don't believe in censoring anyone. The fact of the matter is that your candidate is a criminal who is now being investigated by U.S. Prosecutors who don't work out of the DOJ, instead they work out of New York. She's going to be facing RICO charges here very soon for her racketeering scandal while head of the State Department. You're comment is a month ago so I'll let it slide. The media has done back flips for her in terms of coverage, all the while blasting DT for anything and everything the man says, good or bad. The emails released yesterday prove what many of us have known for months now. Apparently, everyone except you.

    the fact that she even has the nerve to run for president says everything about her. All her years of "public service" and her accomplishments are minimal. I think she runs for office just to put it on her resume, because she clearly takes no initiative once in. Bernie Sanders. 2016.

    Watching this in 2022, I’m dismayed by what might have been, and by what was actually about to happen. There was plenty wrong with her campaign, but she was an experienced, intelligent, serious minded ADULT. Who would have taken covid and the science SERIOUSLY and might have saved many thousands of American lives with strong, EARLY action before it BECAME a US pandemic. Instead we got a sociopathic buffoon who wouldn’t act, and wouldn’t get out of the way of those who could have. So 3 years, and a million deaths later, we’re still not done.

    I don't care for her as a person (but that's not important), but she'd make one hell of a US President. She's also unfortunately the only candidate that has the maturity for the position. She's more assertive than any female candidate, but even so more assertive than any male candidate. How many other candidates have the experience of being First Lady. If she was leader of the country for a two term, then I could consider 2016-2024 a period where the US won't implode. An 8 year extension to the country's life span. That's how bad the other candidates are. Hopefully after those 8 years, we can have real candidates again. Note: I like Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, but I think they're only good in like one or two issues. As Presidents, I'm not so sure. They'd need to prove themselves. Also, maybe I have this wrong, but I thought having a black President was more of an accomplishment than having a first female President. Regardless of if that is right or wrong, I think it is way, way more important that we have a first female President. It's time for a female to command the most powerful nation in the observable universe.

    Hillary has proven in this talk and many others that she understands the problems and threats, both internally and externally, that comes with relating with foreign countries and fighting wars. But for the people that don't know, there was another brilliant man that spoke about foreign policy with an adept understanding of the middle east; his name was Donald Rumsfeld. He spoke out against the Vietnam War and the mistakes that the US made in that war, he then went on to start a modern day equivalent of that war and is now considered a war criminal in many countries around the World. He was also in-charge when the Pentagon "lost" 5 Trillion dollars just before 9/11 happened. My point is, understanding the problems only helps the person studying the problem and does nothing to fix the problem especially if the one studying the problem gets funding from the problem. Politicians will never fix any issues unless we hold them accountable for their decisions. Clintons judgments in the past make her unelectable, especially since those decisions have resulted in the deaths of many innocent people. Last Christmas she awarded Saudi Arabia with $30 Billion dollars worth of weaponry (they paid for it) and in her emails, her team referred to it as an early Christmas present. The Saudis would go on to murder thousands of women, children and doctors without borders in Yemen. Money is the problem, so why do Hillary supporters still support her?

    This should have been compulsory viewing for all Americans during the election campaign. Losing this remarkable woman as a President for the USA is a tragedy, whether people like her personally or not. Her great intelligence and wisdom are the reason the Republican Party fear her. She is a marvellous stateswoman. It is a pity that the cultures of the two major Parties have been developed to embrace hatred and suspicion rather than cooperation and admiration. It harks back to the childishly crude British system, which unfortunately our Parties in Australia also embrace.

    We don't need merely another vision for America, we need 100- to 500-year visions of our future. If you don't vote, the crazies will. Most old people -- "greatest generation" (what a laughable moniker) -- don't care about the environment, their grandkids' future, education, climate change, etc. They just want everything given to them. You find the same kind of thinking among military veterans -- "I served three years behind a desk, so for the next 80 years, give me everything for free and have six parades a year "thanking me for my service." I want Hillary to eventually spell out a clear vision before she starts her campaign, otherwise, it's just about who has the most money.

    +Langham Interact Calling it a Fireside Chat rankles me, because the Clintons are much closer to Reagan politically, than they are to FDR. 90% of what she's saying during the primaries is just phony rhetoric, meant to stave off the challenge from Bernie. Once she's in office, she'll go back to working on behalf of her corporate patrons, while throwing a few crumbs to ordinary citizens. Bill was a conservative president, and she will be too. You'll see.

    I can't sit here and attack Hilary Clinton on any front, unless she was going to talk about the simpler things that are in my purview, and that I happen to be personally good at. She's been successful since she was young at organizing and rallying, moving, shaking, and politiking. Yet, as I was once a fan, now, all I see in her is the polished politician. She's professional, poised, and uses as slippery talk as good as any in the business, seemingly saying something, while really doing her best to not say anything so forward as to offend. She's been in the establishment too long, and it shows. America needs a fresher perspective to shake things up, say I anyway. She is strong, and of course has superb credentials, domestic and international; The almost best possible resume for a non-former president. So for 2016, if you want the status quo, vote for HiIlary Clinton. If you want to start seeing an America more balanced in it's approach to imperialism, and more pragmatic and rational at home while being more transparent and rational in it's policy and decision making, vote for Rand Paul.

    Seriously?! What about mass shootings? What about so many people in prisons? What about your veterans? What about your student debts? What about your racism? Btw, who started the economic crisis in 2009? I mean... it's a ridiculous statement. I mean, what about Trump :D haha.. Your "democracy" is a joke. The only thing you have so you can be so full of yourself is money and army. And furthermore, American bombs fell on the ground and innocent people of many countries which were obviously not your allies, nor were they threatening any of your allies. I can speak in details about the story of Yugoslavia, as I come from there. But I read on the other conflicts as well where US army was self-invited. Somehow US politicians always pretend to understand local conflicts better than the local people. And somehow, if everyone does not dance as they play they find it justified to kill so many kids and people and contaminate ground of these countries. Your way of thinking is exactly the same as of any other empire that has ever existed. Just no other empire had so much destructive powers as US today. I just hope this planet survives it.

    It sounds as if you spend a bit too much time getting your information from a biased news source with a clearly liberal agenda. Mass shootings, guns save more live in this country than they take, but how many news stories do you hear about that? Those type of stories rarely get told, because there's more advertising money in sensationalizing brutal murders. People in prison? They're there for a reason. Do you want all the drug dealers, rapist, pedophiles, and murderers released in your neighborhood? Student debt is only a problem for the people who get degrees in useless subjects where no one is hiring. Compare someone with a finance, or business degree, with someone with a degree in Latin literature, or philosophy. Racism, again liberal media incites racism on an almost daily basis. Without the media, you would rarely hear about racism in this day and age, unless the left uses it to further their agenda. And the "Sup-Prime Mortgage Crisis" of 2007- 2008? That was Barney Frank, and the Democrat controlled Congress that passed the banking laws which forced banks to give loans to people with no credit, and no money down. And as far as American bombs falling around the world , if the U.N. would step up and do what they were created to do, the U.S. wouldn't have to be the worlds police. Take Iraq for example, the U.N. issued thirteen separate resolutions against Iraq for human rights violations, chemical weapons violations, refusing access to chemical and biological weapon sites for U.N. weapons inspectors. Then there was the genocide committed against the Kurds, the invasion of Kuwait to steal their oil, firing missiles at neighboring countries and at commercial aircraft. Everyone else was afraid of Sadam Husein, and what was then considered the third largest land army in the world. The U.S. fixed that problem, until Obama became president, and pulled the troops out before the region was stabilized.

    As for your internal things - if it's ok for you, it's ok for me. I don't have to live there. I mean, I've been there several times and it is an interesting country in many ways. But my mind can not get over the fact that I could not buy a bottle of wine, being obviously 21+, bc I forgot my passport and my driving licence with picture and date of birth was not recognized. And anyone has gun access. As I said, it's your problem to deal with. I just read and wander what consequences on the planet it can leave if, for example, your next president denies climate change. As for the international problems, I think you pretty much made my point. US army escalates every conflict they pretend they want to solve.
