Nice first attempt and well done for leaving your cock ups in. I ran out of Y adjustment doing a similar zero but at 40 yds for my FAC Ghost. Yet to mount it on my Lupo…

Thank you! We all cock up from time to time so I dont see any reason to edit them out - shows we’re all human 😂

The Arken doesnt need an aftermarket illuminator, ive tried a fee and theres no benefit, its one of its plus points so if you do a side by side comparison leave the Arken as it is and just stick a torch on the Alpex.

Hi, Gary, fantastic video! Thanks for taking ALPEX 4K out for a field test. We were wondering if you'd be open to authorizing us to use your video from 8:21 to the end. If so, we will clarify that this video comes from you. Looking forward to your reply.

Good video mate, I have a question I have just bought this scope and my battery display doesn`t change if I put the external battery supplied into the scope, so if the battery symbol says you have 1 bar of power left and you put the battery in the scope the battery symbol stays 1 bar. Does your scope do the same or does it have a second symbol for the second battery or does it just to full on the existing symbol. Thanks Mick

Hi Mick! There is only one battery symbol. You need to charge the external battery separately using the charger that is supplied and charge the onboard battery by connecting the a scope with the USB C cable. It’s crucial that you charge them separately and the extra 18650 battery isn’t inside when charging the scope or else the unit will try to charge that but won’t.

Thanks for the reply, I new to charge them separate, I asking more about why the external battery is now recognized by the unit. The manufacturer got back to me and told me the unit auto switches to the external battery when the internal battery is flat.@@GC.Outdoors

Good video, well done. I just bought the sane scope. Liking the way youve got yours mounted low, ive got a pic rail and conventional bolt lift so have to be up a bit higher. They are impressive i think with a decent illuminator. Had a 230m fox last night off the tripod, i could have prob done the same with my old pard 007 but this gave a much brighter image and with the ballistic calculator made aiming over real easy. Its a heavy scope but carrying with a sling and shooting off a tripod or quadsticks it doesn't matter. 👍

Thanks @stephenoshea1166 - I agree, they’re hefty but well worth the weight, the ballistic calculator is especially useful for rounds like the .22lr with the ballistic trajectory of a banana 🍌 I was using a 007 through a Swarovski, so the difference is worlds apart

@@GC.Outdoors My pard I've used with cheap hawkes which I think is supposed to be a better combination as they allow the IR light through easier, I'll still use that for certain guns. (And it's still decent for the money they are) . Although now I've got a decent one piece sportsmatch qd mount for the alpex so as I convert certain other guns over to pic rail, I can swap it around to the 223 and 22lr etc, maybe the 17 hmr, currently on a 243. Want to get the most use out of it as possible. I'm not certain yet but I think switching zeroing profiles should be an easy task, .....there's another video for you to do...hint hint 😂

@@stephenoshea1166 can confirm it’s super easy! I actually went for the blaser rifle because of the modularity so being able to easily mount the alpex on another barrel and quickly change profile is a huge advantage

Lrf is pointless during the day if you want to zoom in then?

It al depends on where your zero falls - the crosshairs will move but the LRF stays fixed so it’ll be different for everyone

Its a camera detector without an IR filter. Its not close to being genuine night vision (NL4/NL5 unaided) let alone "best night vision" out there. Perhaps have a look through a high quality night vision unit with a quality analogue tube or at least the only decent quality digital night vision imager, OPSIN 2.0. This looks like part of an astroturfing campaign, must be a new PRC product.

I hear this so often when watching anything to do with digital night vision devices. We get it... it's not genuine nv. But for civilians shooting pests and predators, we don't need military grade genuine nv that costs a fortune and isn't any good in the day. The alpex is marketed as a day/ night hunting scope and for the purpose it's brilliant, like most of them are, and in the hundreds, not thousands. I didn't see them fox's complaining about needing ir light, and I could see them crystal clear enough to take a clearly identified shot. That's what it's all about in this genre of night vision. Maybe the poster was inaccurate in questioning is it the best night vision out there, maybe should have put best day / night hunting scope for £ 850? Doesn't bother me though. *It's his first video, cut the guy some slack please.

@@stephenoshea1166 So its not night vision and its not the best night vision device. Like this reviewer, I don't think you know what is good or what isn't good. Its not brilliant its just yet another digital camera with the IR filter taken off. They're all over priced for what they really are. The reality is, you just don't want to pay for good equipment.

  • @stephenoshea1166

@@VK6AB- No, the reality is that for shooting rats, rabbits or fox at night, we (generally) have no need or desire for any analogue equipment. Could you not see the fox in the video?? I could and the fact it was still running into the IR light proves that it's effective for its purpose. I have no issue at all with people wanting or liking the tubed nv but unless your on the front line in the military where enemy are returning fire, it's not essential. Just a luxury alternative if you can afford it and want it. But most if not all hunters with a bigger budget would go thermal these days anyway. Why knock what the majority of people consider decent just because you've got something you consider superior. It's like saying (but not as extreme as); "Every car that's not a Rolls Royce is not fit for purpose and people just don't want to spend the money on a Rolls Royce". It's also about the intended purpose, if this "non night vision" is overpriced but does the intended job perfectly, then buying tubed night vision would be even more overpriced. Pricing is also subjective, to you, given your need for analogue night vision, that's not overpriced as it's essential for your needs. As for digital nv, there's cheaper ones out there, this has a feature set including the range finder and ballistic calculator which for shooting foxes at night can be a real benefit and justifies the cost IF it's what your after. If it's not then no one's forcing anyone to buy it. It's just being demonstrated by a user ( not a salesman) on KZread for those who may be interested in it. I appreciate his content.

@@stephenoshea1166 "Best night vision out there" - pure click bait and also false. You're just obfuscating. I have no interest in these types of devices and only commented because it came up in my feed. I clicked on it because of the statement made by the youtuber "best night vision out there" These things are just a waste of money, you're better off saving up and buying a well though out thermal e.g. 12 micron, 25 to 35mm focal length and ~ 3 x base magnification.
