Hiking to PEN PYCH Waterfall in the RHONDDA VALLEY

Ah the Pen Pych Waterfall and Rain, what a dynamic duo! We have tried to come to this waterfall a few times but due to the rain, haven't been too successful. However, today, we decided to pack our waterproofs, plan a route and hike a trail to the waterfall and boy, were we not disappointed!
Starting at the Hendrewen Hotel in Blaenrhondda, we hiked to the waterfall, up onto the Pen Pych ridge (one of only two flat-topped spur mountains in Europe!) and down the other side into a valley. Here, we crossed a river and continued along the valley until we dropped back down to the car.
It was an incredible hike to see the hidden waterfall and we didn't cross paths with another soul!
I hope you all enjoy!

Great video, It's beautiful I run this route every morning until a few days ago.. I ran up past the top waterfall and then almost over the edge.. There has been a massive landslide and it is not possible to get to the top at the moment. Very dangerous, unstable and a LOT of fallen trees.. I would avoid for the meantime.

Thanks 😊 It’s such a beautiful area! That’s such a shame, hopefully it’ll get cleared soon.

The walk up to the waterfall is officially closed at the moment because of possible landslide danger, and they are not going to fix it because of cost.

Why this suddenly turns up on my homepage. Possibly since I saw another some days ago. Nice work but you made a grave error. The Hendrewen Hotel is NOT in Blaenrhondda but in Blaencwm. These two villages at the top of the The Rhondda are on either side of Pen Pych. Might have been the reason you did not get to the waterfall before :D

You really should learn how to pronounce Welsh place names, because we can’t understand you
