Hiking the Routeburn Track | New Zealand's Great Walks
Six days after completing the 3000km Te Araroa trail, I decided to walk the 33km Routeburn Track from The Divide (Milford Road) to Glenorchy. I completed the great walk in a single day (usually three days), as the huts were all fully booked. The Routeburn Classic Race was taking place this day, so it was quite a busy track! From The Divide, I followed the track up to Lake Howden and then on to Lake Mackenzie Hut, where I had a break. From there, I climbed up to Harris Saddle (where there is a day shelter) and then followed the track down to Routeburn Falls Hut. In the final section, I followed the Route Burn (river) all the way out to the Routeburn Shelter Carpark, near Glenorchy (Queenstown).

Wow, sounds like a great trip! I would have liked to have explored a bit more around the Greenstone Valley - I only got to do the first section up to Greenstone Hut on the TA. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching - it is a pretty amazing place!
Great effort again. Some of those "huts" looked more like motels, especially compared with many that you encounted on the TA trail😅😮!
