That steep ascent before the crater rim was called "7 Bukit Penyelesan (7 hills of regret)" on local terms. Legend has it, it is at that point you'll regret your life's choice to hike up Mt. Rinjani in the first place, and I couldn't agree more LOL! Thank you for such a beautiful footage and documentation, reminiscing tons of good memories back home!!

Awesome video! Did the hike this spring and loved it (even if I didn’t get to the top). It was difficult indeed, both climb and descent, but beautiful views all around, incredible guides and sherpa teams. Beautiful Lombok, beautiful Indonesia! ❤️❤️❤️

Closed, because i don’t want to spoil myself anything. Will do the same thing in August. Q1) is it doable? 29 y.o. Avaregely trained, did 3 Lavaredo’s peaks in Alps, and some other long trails. Former boy scout (until 19 y.o.) did two 1/week/trails around alps at thise times. Still going to do simple/avarage treks from time to time. I know it’s gonna be challenging but not impossible! 2) what about animals and predators there?

Do they provide sleeping bags, chairs and tables?

Gili means small island ini Sasak language (local tribe in Lombok Island) so gili is not the name of the island. Instead for example gili Trawangan ini English Trawangan island in Indonesia pulau Trawangan. Island = pulau in Indonesia.

Amazing trip!! I am heading to Indonesia in a few weeks and this hike is super high on my list. I saw that the 3D2N option is most popular, is your route shorter? Also, I'm curious to know if you explored other parts of Lombok?

Hi I did the 2d1n, yes I stayed in some small town, but there was nothing there, I was there to rest. You can go to Gili islands easily by ferry. I then did the island hopping boat tour in my other video

beautiful video.. I watched it 10 times now and want to climb Everest too... may I ask, when was this film documented ? what month ? which month is best to go ? Winter will be excruciating. I will probably be buried by the snow there and die there alone.

Hi I used Bas RInjani, it is more basic, I heard Green Rinjani might be more lux :)
