Hiking Hallasan Yeongsil Course, Donnaeko Valley, and Pyoseon Beach | Ep 3 |One Month in Jeju

#korea #jeju #hallasan
Hello everyone! It was time for us to leave Hwasun Golden Sand Beach and head over to Donnaeko Valley to camp in the mountains. However, construction was going on so we weren't allowed to camp there, and also the waterfall that we were originally planning on swimming at wasn't deep enough to swim in yet. We decided to give up on the Donnaeko plan, and go straight to Pyoseon Beach to camp out for a few days, and after relaxing it was time for an adventure. We went to Hallasan's Yeongsil Course, and hiked it with absolutely amazing weather. It was really stunning and we strongly recommend it. Hopefully the video can share some useful information!

I miss bicycle adventuring/hiking in Korea after riding the 4 river path in 2019. Amazing and informative videos! Im currently planning my Jeju trip this September. Thank you both for sharing your amazing and informative videos. Be safe and have fun on your upcoming journeys.

Thanks a lot Jason2Wheels! September will be an amazing time to cycle around Jeju! Strongly recommend going slow and stopping along the way to see all the amazing sites! Also here is a map of all the places you can camp for free in Jeju (legally, I recommend stealth camping too sometimes just for a fun experience!). It's in Korean but it should be useful! kko.to/AcnQWTcIk

Have you ever considered going to Canada and doing videos there? I think a lot of people could be super interested in that. Canada has some REAL nature.

  • @lostthenfound

Will be going on a family trip this September so we might make a few videos of Canada. Also the nature is bigger there but I'd say a lot of the Korean nature is just as unique/nice! I don't think we will ever live there permanently as Korea is better for our lifestyle overall though.

@@lostthenfound Be careful. Yujin might fall in love with it if she's never been before... Then there's no coming back! Looking forward to seeing you in your native land - that's going to be an interesting twist. Korean nature is nice, too, albeit a bit more quaint. Of course Canada is in a class of its own compared to the whole world.

@@eliastv5498 ahaha Yujin has been a few times! She loves it (especially the rocky mountains) but Korea still has something that Canada/America doesn't. I think it's just the freedom of not worrying about theft or violence and the flexibility of not having to follow every rule so strictly (this has downsides too of course, but camping pretty much wherever you want is pretty cool especially when it's so safe!)

@@lostthenfound I was thinking of hiking Hallasan in the fall, but I might push it off until winter based on your experience:) Also, thanks for letting us know advanced reservations are needed now for Hallasn...didn't know that. Korea has so many nice courses to traverse the country! Thank you!!

@@SeoulMan2020 that's a great idea! Just so you know it's really hard to predict the weather up at Hallasan, especially in the winter. Apparently it's quite rare and we were lucky to get such a bluebird day up top, so if possible try to give yourself a couple of days leeway (super hard with the reservation system in play, but I'm sure you can cancel the reservation if needed). Also buy some poles and some ice cleats for your boots because it gets pretty slippery up there!
