Just an fyi, labor didn't say they didn't want to recogise Palestine as a state. They wanted to amend the bill to say they recogise Palestine as a state in a two state solution. Labor also has already recognised Palestine and wish for its statehood. While arguing for a ceasefire.

Australia has not recognised Palestine, and the term -as a part of the peace process' is the same delaying tactic that has enabled the usurping of Palestinian land (not even counting the massive theft of all of historical Palestine given to Is. In '48). If their position was really about the peace process, why do they recognise Is.?

Fatima is not there to represent one issue there are many issues facing an electorate. Being part of any political party means towing the party line even if you disagree with it - I support her stand on Palestine but she could have championed this internally and make the whole Labour party recognise her viewpoint - Her priority have to be the local electoral issues first and Australia first, then other concerns
