Ban the things that cover face - that's alright (the context for that is understandable). However why is the hijab such a problem? it just covers their hair and chest. let them be, its literally a dupatta but wrapped around their heads. If its about uniform they can legit wear a similar colour to the uniform. I don't see the need of banning of the hijab altogether.

As a non-hijabi muslim girl, I don't think that burkha or face veils should be allowed in schools at all but i don't see how a headscarf that matches the dupatta of the uniform will pose a problem. The point is that in countries where it is compulsory to cover, hijab becomes a symbol of oppression, understandably, but in places you ask women to remove it, it becomes a symbol of pride and dignity. The issue is not the hijab, the issue is the policing of a women's attire. Live and let live. Let women wear what they want. And the people were who say that religious symbols should not enter the classroom, it is a good idea but then no one should be wearing a turban, or a bindi, or sacred threads or any teacher sindoor or mangalsutra. India is such a deeply religious country that to remove religion from public life is removing much part of a persons identity. If it could be done, it might make lives much simpler but it cannot be done. The diversity and complexity of this country is what places it apart.

This video is very biased and has a lot of misinformation. For instance, you mention that many girls are 'forced to wear it because of society/family pressure'. Unfortunately, this is the case for many; however, there are plenty of Muslim women who actually understood the meaning of hijab and wear it with pride out of their own free will, not only when 'minorities are persecuted for it'. You could have mentioned this along with examples if you wanted a neutral approach to the topic. Also, you claim that ' In 2021, 90% of Muslim women covered their heads outside home' ad you followed this by 'Of them, only a small minority sported hijab'. These two statements are contradictory and make no sense. You also claim that 'hijab is a piece of cloth first used as protection against weather'. I am assuming you mean in Arabian harsh weather conditions. What you have to understand is this is more of a cultural/geographic depiction of the hijab where people (men and women) used to cover their heads and faces looogng before Islam reached them. You cannot necessarily call this a hijab. Hijab is a religious (Islamic) construct to observe modesty in dress and behaviors; its purpose is not as a covering from the weather.

The part of "modesty" really shows the obvious gender bias . Very similar to Hinduism in India where women are forced to wear veils to cover their "modesty" . But idk why they are not addressed equally. In this fight for religious nuance and debates its the women from both religions who suffer. And the ones in power remain in power.

Perhaps, medieval Arabic societies were so out of control, that the men were beasts, women were slaves, and societies were ruled by rich-men hegemony, and the similar thought process was brought into the scriptures. INDIA WAS NEVER LIKE THAT. A fish cannot live on land. If it has to, it needs to evolve over time. And you people need to evolve according to the land you live at. Sikh turban, mangalsutra, tika, bangles, Christian cross, morning prayers all should be banned. Why do you have so much problem with hijab?? Hijab is not just a culture, it is something prescribed by their religion. Can you force a hindu to eat beef?? Why not? Is it because cow is holy to them? The same way hijab is very important to muslim women. Don't make it an issue, let them wear, or when you will not feel good to let your sisters and daughters wear bikini in public places, the same way some muslim women don't feel good to show their heads to public. Understand them instead of passing judgements.

@FIRE there is a difference between niqab and hijab. Girls go to school with hijab as they mentioned very often and not with niqab(even if they do, they remove it before entering the premises). Well not the question is what I want in the end? Apart from knowledge, The aim of educational institutions is to promote diversity not uniformity, so I want a school in which uniformed sikh student could wear his turban, a hindu could have a tikka on forehead, a married woman in college could be wearing mangalsutra, a uniformed christain student wearing a cross and a uniformed muslim girl COULD WEAR HIJAB TOO, Without judging their intellectual on the basis of what they wear.

First of all, The word hijab is not mentioned in Quran...we people follow only Quran and prophet Muhammad(SAW) and in Quran the word 'jilbab' is mentioned in chapter 33 verse 59 and the meaning of jilbab is 'a loose garment that covers the head and chest' which is used to cover female body and in the same verse it is said that jilbab helps us to 'be recognised and not molested' and jilbab is which face, fingers and palm and feet is uncovered and Quran didn't even mentioned in single verse that says about face covering and jilbab is word which on the timeline people begin to say in their confortable way as hijab and as a female, hijab gives me strength to walk bravely and I feel empowered and I feel safe and secure. I started using hijab from the age of 14 without any compulsion or pressure from my family and there was no objection when I weared hijab in school and wearing hijab in college now. I feel proud that I live in Tamil nadu and here we live with harmony and peace with diversities. I feel every one should have freedom to wear their religious clothing and have the right to choose it.

The only question I would like to ask is why do u feel empowered? How could a piece of cloth..any cloth .. a hijab or anything else could empower us, give us a sense modesty or dignity. Why a gal’s empowerment or chastity is associated with a piece of cloth Sara?

@@AnirimaGhosh i think u dont know the meaning of empowered let me clarify you empower means 'make someone more confident and more stronger'. I believe that every girl is stronger and empowered in their own way for example, my friend says one dark stroke of kajal make her empower, someone be like red lips make them empower, somebody with western clothes make them empower, someone with traditional look make them empower, some with saree someone with skirt someone with white coat someone with black coat, some feel well with revealing clothes, and someone like me feel comfortable, bold, strong, confident when body is covered. I feel confident, bold, strong when i walk in streets with hijab because i feel secure that no one is seeing body and no one is judging me for my body and no one sees me with bad intention bcoz no one is able to see my body parts and that MAKES ME FEEL EMPOWERED Ms.Anirima. When someone in world feels empoweres by being naked and showing their body off then why can't i feel empowered by my hijab. Now i really feel empowered again because im one among that girl who can choose her own rights to dress in her own way this makes me empowered.! Hope i answered u.

Unfortunately, this is the case for many; however, there are lot and lots of Muslim women who actually understood the meaning of hijab and wear it with pride out of their own free will.I can provide numerous examples from my own experience. I've seen women completely freak out at the thought of being exposed in public. If you say it's because of conditioning, no, it's not. Many people started doing it later in life, without anyone influencing their decisions. I'm just curious why everyone is so interested in telling what Muslim women think about it rather than asking and covering the truth directly from their viewpoint.

0:47 "The 'TALE' of Hijab started before Islam itself" Nowadays even reporters don't know what they are reporting. According to 95% Non Muslims in India they believe that Islam Started along with Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and by the revelation of the Quran. Which happened about 1400 years ago. But that's not what you think! Before Prophet Muhammad (SAW) 124000 Anbiya came and influenced people for Islam. Which includes The first man on earth, Adam (AS). One of the successors of Adam (AS), Nuh (AS) who saved people from a disaster which was warned from Allah to him, to save the people by creating a 3-floored ship and fill the boat with People, the wrong-doers, criminals, etc will be wiped off in this disaster and the truthful and honest people will remain alive in the boat. Nuh (AS) lived a lifespan of 950 years. Prophet Musa (AS), who killed Firaun/Pharoah ramsess II more than 4000 years ago, (When Hinduism emerged). Prophet Isa (AS), Dawood (AS) and many more were all Muslims and never claimed themselves that they are God [What Cristians actually believe is Jesus (PBUH) was God] Few proofs: Grave of Adam (AS) which is currently present in Jerusalem, about 230 feets long, the exact figure mentioned in Islam. The Ship proof of Nuh (AS), present at mount Ararat, Turkiye. The Staff of Musa (AS) is currently present in it's original state in the Museum of Topkapi, Turkiye. In Islam, Allah already warned Firaun Multiple times through Musa (AS) to stop saying himself a (fake) God, and stop torturing the people, stop burial of Girl child when she's born, etc. And also warned him if you'll not listen to my orders, the land and the sea will reject you from entering you inside them. You will become a admonition to people in the future. Now, in the 21st century scientists prooved that salt remains are found from Ramsess II's dead body, which is clear he was thrown out of the sea. Many more proofs are available of him. So the conclusion is: Stop spreading fakes about Islam. Do some research then report!

See in every religion people tends to mould things which they find suitable or desire, even though things ain't work that way. One thing I will say, you can just correct them and try to guide. If they still follow thier wills, no one can do anything and every one is accountable to thier own. Most important points is before pinpointing to others one should focus on improvising him/herself. The standards of this channel have now gone to a negative. 1) You open your argument with a scene from a Bollywood movie wherein the actress says that my hijab is my identity. It's a shallow, since and extremely cringe argument as well as a cheap propaganda. Anything could be declared as 'my identity' in tha tone. For example: How about a junkie saying that my cocaine is mu identity, hands off it 2) Really, 'protection against harsh weather' ! A full body black tent like clothing is preventing of heat in a hot desert climate !....Wow 3) Hijab isn't a fundamental right. A society/state has every right as well as a duty to curb and prohibit something which is self abuse. The constitution supports this as well. 4) This false and preposterous equivalences with padgi , tika and all is mod boggling first of all they aren't worn instead of uniform. Second, they aren't forms and symbols of cultural oppression and indoctrination. Thing is, whether hijab is a harmless piece of religious clothing or an oppressive, patriarchal and rabid Islamist. This should decide the verdict for wearing hijab , we need to look for the contextual reality and kind of motivation which goes into wearing of a hijab. 5) Especially, Brut has made a mind numbing attempt to justify and normalise the constant symbol of oppression and objectification of women by giving it a tone of 'people's movement'. Even Nazism was a people's movement !

This was poorly researched and has many inaccuracies. The veil/head covering dates back to over 2000 years ago. Marry the mother of Isa (Peace be Upon him) wore what we call a Hijab. The fact is that Nobel modest women have always covered their heads in public places. The hijab can be found in both Indian and European history too. In the Quran the specific word used for head covering is "khimar" which was a head covering garment. Hijab is a general term that means curtain/cover. It is used to refer to the whole modest wardrobe, but the word can be used in other circumstances.

The only thing i find true in this video as a muslim is the fact that - Men should lower their gaze and guard their private parts, it's their veil in islam. Other than that everything that is been said and presented here doesn't have any proper research or study. Yes people wore garments to protect them from dust and the desert storm. But that wasn't the reason which gave rise to the concept of hijab. For eg : I wear a saffron color shirt, i wear it because i find the color attractive or i like it. This doesn't mean that I'm a hindu or doesn't represent anything. But if i wear it with another reason which i told, it represents that. So what my intention is, that's the question. Prophet muhammad (saw) said, your actions are judged as per your intentions.

The word khumur comes in the Qur'an for covering for women. You can search "24:31 Qur'an" to look it up yourself. And the verse before it (24:30) is for men's modesty. 24:31 And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof and to wrap [a portion of] their *headcovers (khumur)* over their chests and not expose their adornment [i.e., beauty] except to their husbands, their fathers, ... Hijab is just a popular conventional word for it. It might not come in the Qur'an for head covering but it represents head-covering. Similar to the word namaz (prayer) popular in urdu this word does not come in the Qur'an. Qur'an uses the word "salah" for prayer. But that doesn't mean prayer or namaz is not mentioned in the Qur'an. They are mentioned, just like hijab or head-covering or burqa but using a different word- khumur (singular is khimar).

Read the books like creation of patriarchy or books on female/gender issue or feminism concerning civilisation that rose in middle East Roman Empire and Greek civilisation and Abrahamic religion. Head covering was used to differentiate who is slave/publicly available women and who is not publicly available. If you read further it is even worse. Before Judaism and Christianity was used to keep it alive now it is islams turn.

There's reason why educational institutions have uniform, there's why religious symbols are not allowed, there's reason why educational institutions want to maintain uniformity, equality and integrity. Look at the scholars they have been producing from 1400 years ago. Did you see any scientists came from this religion ? Problem is that, this religion is a mediocre religion to protect Arabian Bedouins from wandering and commit crimes . Thats how Islam is bless for Arab people living in desert. It give those people some kind of society and a strict rule to follow, it was needed in that period obviously. They taught Arabian desert people, how to live properly, without doing any sinful act. Because at That time people weren't that civilized. Thats it. Thays why in some Islamic institutions, people taught students that earth is flat, sun is movable etc. The problem is radical mind. They dont want to go against the book and support of science. In Sanatan we have every book in every direction, from Medicine - Ayurveda, Susrut samhita, Yogas. Astronomy - Saurya Siddhanta, 10 dimensions on universe, Advance mathematics, Energy etc now a days Quantum mechanics stated the accuracy of Santans religions many books . Even in Hindu books Geography called "Bhugol" Bhu means Earth and gol means round. And our ancestors even said that the exact year of earth. Even western scientists confirmed all above. And this even imply 12000 years old religion is actually is a scientific religion. We are Aryan descendants,,,, Aryan -- the most advanced and scientific people on earth at that time....

The dupatta is believed to have evolved from the ancient uttariya...Even in Rajasthan many women use veil and rajput Hindu women or past’s queens always used to veil or cover their face and body from other man...scripture from Hinduism, When Ram saw the Parushu Ram coming , he tell to his wife Seta. “ O Seta keep yourselves in the veil and lower your gaze” (Maha veera Chritra Act 2 page on 71).......

one correction: "even in Hinduism...in Veda it is written their is One God and he is formless. Even Idol worshipping is Prohibited. Although the current for of Hinduism has deviated from its path in Ancient Veda it is written." What you said is true. Vedas claim God is Formless, but also claim that for humans to attain a level of divinity, they can imagine a manifestation of God within their available five senses. Which is why, you see Idols. It means that God is ultimate, but God also allows you to explore the Maaya this world has to offer, by trying to befriend the Almighty. God can provide you a path of fulfillment, and yet a path of destruction. It is a choice of you, but not others. Often to due that, wrong steps can be taken when Karma is piled up, and a man cannot attain Moksha. Although the divinity aspect is being commercialized over these idols in todays world. Hindus believe this is the result of Kali Yuga (bad era to live, non-righteousness). The same paradox can be found in Islam as well. In the craze of attaining paradise, such that a noblest and best of individual sees God, it has built a society of intolerance and diminutive scope to debate, thereby religious war fares were the outcomes witnessed in Islamic context.

Well, need to choose your experts wisely, who can offer an unbiased knowledge. The fact quoted here "experts suggest it was not a part of islamic teaching" is incorrect. Just a suggestion from a huge fan and daily viewer of this channel. 😊

I gotta agree with the fact that not all women and girls choose to wear the hijab. Some are forced. I've seen a few cases of my cousin sisters, so I know. I'm just grateful my parents aren't oppressive. But they still make me wear a dupatta whenever I go outside. And I don't like it🙁

@@dude_its.anya. because it is your choice, it's not enforced on u. Everyone has their own preferences. However, it's not right to enforce your opinion on someone else. I will respect your choice to wear one, I won't try to change your mind cause your POV is yours, and I respect it

‼️‼️‼️‼️Headscraf is not forced for all Most of them choose to be.like parents are forcing some kids to undress for fashion show or going outside some families may force too.but thats should be justifiable to those who wear it out of obligatory rules of their faith and every practising muslim in the world know that it is obligatory in their faith

Hijab is an essential practice of Islam... For reference : Surah An-Noor, Chapter 24, Verse 31... Dear Brothers and Sisters, I am a Muslim and I am a Hijabii... In my School there are so many Statues of Jesus(peace be upon him) and Mother Mary(peace be upon her)... and I have seen schools which have the Paintings of Hindu Gods... and my Non Muslim friends wear their Religious Bracelets, Pendants and so on... and they keep the photos of their God in their Pouches... and my Teachers wear Sindooram and their wedding chain which has a Pendant of their God's image... And my Principal wear the Christian's Head Scarf... there is even a Church inside my school... and We have no problem with these... because We Respect Your Religion, Your Dressing and Your Religious Practices (we Respect NOT Encourage)... So why can't you Respect Ours??? In Schools they should teach Students how to respect other religions... Because when they grow up and go out in the Society, they should know how to respect other religions... But now they are teaching them how to fight with other religions... What will happen to these students when they grow up??? Will they continue to criticize Muslims and try to take off their Hijabs??? We go to schools and colleges to get educated, right??? Then let me ask you... What is education??? You should search what is education and what is the difference between education and literacy in Google... THE MAIN DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LITERACY AND EDUCATION IS THAT LITERACY REFERS TO A PERSON'S ABILITY TO READ AND WRITE, WHILE EDUCATION REFERS TO THE PROCESS OF ACQUIRING KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, VALUES, MORALS, HABITS, AND BELIEFS... Education is a complete development of a person in terms of knowledge, sensibility, and most important ; BEHAVIOR... WE GO TO SCHOOL NOT ONLY TO LEARN WHAT IS IN THE TEXTBOOK... BUT ALSO TO LEARN HOW TO RESPECT OTHER RELIGIONS AND HOW TO BEHAVE IN THE SOCIETY... Also... Women are not Oppressed in islam... Let me ask you a simple question... Why do you keep your money inside a wallet??? Why do you Cover your money??? Are you Oppressing your money??? No... You are not Oppressing it... You are Covering it because it's Valuable... and you are Protecting it... Likewise, We are so Valuable to Allah(Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala)... so Allah(SWT) instructs us to Cover ourselves... Because Allah(SWT) wants to Protect us... Subhanallah🤲 Let me give you another example... As you know we are in a Pandemic situation... So,Government instructed all of us to wear a Mask... We all know that the Villian is Corona Virus... But We are lessening the probability of Corona virus attacking us by wearing a mask... Will you fight with the Government by saying that the Villian is Corona Virus so you should control it and don't oppress the people by instructing them to wear the mask??? Will you??? No.. Because you know that the Government is not Oppressing us.. They are trying to protect us... Likewise, Allah(Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) is not oppressing us instead Allah(SWT) is protecting us... Just imagine that 2 Women are walking together in a park... One women is wearing a loose dress and has covered her whole body except for her face and hands upto the wrist and she has covered her chest using her head scarf... And the other women is wearing a tight dress and shows off her arms,legs,... and is wearing an attractive makeup and ornaments... and her hair is flying in the air... And there came a pervert.. Who do you think the pervert will stare at??? Who do you think he will flirt with??? We all know that the fault is with the pervert(as we know that Corona virus is the Villian)... But shouldn't we try our best to lessen the possibility of pervert attacking us (as we wear mask to lessen the possibility of Corona virus affecting us)... Of course it's the pervert's mistake but we don't know who is a pervert and who is not. So we better cover ourselves(as we wear mask whenever we go out because we don't know who is affected with Corona virus and who is not)... I am not saying we won't get attacked because we are fully covered(as no one can guarantee we won't get affected by Corona Virus because we wear a mask)... But there is a very high possibility that we won't get attacked... Also..There are instructions for men as well.. Allah(Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) first instructed men to Lower their Gaze and Guard their Modesty... Only after that Allah(SWT) instructed women to do so... Only the Extend of our clothing are different because we have different physical features... Other than that they also shouldn't wear Tight dress, Transparent dress, Attractive dress,... They also should Dress Modestly... Say to the believing men that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty: that will make for greater purity for them: And Allah is well acquainted with all that they do. You guys are saying you gives 1st priority to Education... at the same time you are not letting Muslim girls enter the Schools and Colleges because we are wearing hijab... Your words and actions are not matching together... WE WON'T TAKE OFF OUR HIJAB... We won't Disobey the God's Command... We won't give up on Our Rights and Freedom... We won't give up on both Hijab and Education...

The information given in the video is not at all proper. Maybe, while making an informative video about a history of a religious attire, you must do research and take the help of Islamic scholars who've studied the religion rather than put what's given straight up from the Google. Have to do better. As per Islam, Hijab is not a choice, but is mandatory for every muslim women to cover their head as per Islam, hadeeths sources, and Aqeedah tells so. However, there are debates on this among the muslim women and there are alot of women who dosent wear and there are women who wishes to wear occacionaly. There are women who've studied the religion deeply and wear it daily whenever they are outside. It's upto them and their God. For most muslim women hijab is their identity, they wear its their connection to their God obeying the commands as a believer And noone else should have an opinion about her hijab other than her. As simple as that. Muslim women started wearing it alooong back. Not only muslims wear, christian nuns wear, religious jews wear. People of all faith practicing the abrahamic religion wears it although the rules might differ. The current sudden hijab ban is politically motivated to intimidate muslims, the bjp is a shithouse of hatered towards the muslim, they need something to feed on so they got a new topic hijab. Next will be a ban on skullcap mualim men wear, urdu ban, Quraan ban the list will go onn... its not new for the muslims. They think muslims are a toy to play around with their rights. But The Govt is making mock out of themselves Internationally. Muslims of the nation will resist and protest and they will get their support Worldwide.

This was not expected from you brut seriously i thought you were different from those typical indian media channels. Please do some proper research first (in perspective of Islam) on what's mentioned as culture and as pardah in quran. You are just misguiding people about our religion and culture. Do not mix culture and religion. It's your duty to spread right information to the people and see what you are doing just imagine how many people will be misguided by your this 5 minute video. Hijab is not our culture it's our identity our pardah. It's what Allah has mentioned in quran to cover ourselves. This is our pride. Ps:As already few people have commented regarding what's mentioned in quran jusy go through those comments that is what hijab is for us.
