Once in a while, I need to watch stories like this, so real and comes from a soul of Spiritual things. Michael Landon had a Soul like that. He touch each story he wrote.

Perception of truth is a dangerous double edged sword... especially when it distorts you to parts of the truth you don't want to see as truth. This episode puts may stories under the microscope....

So true. It made me re-think how I had perceived another story along this line. It let's me see you have to look at all of the angles of a story, and consider everyone's feeling, and don't be so quick to pass judgment. In this story, I had symphathy for the mother, thinking her daughter hated her, and how the world would view her as a bad mother, when she had only tried to be the best mother she had the ability, to be. As a parent myself, that got me to thinking. In hindsight I know I could have been a better mother but I did the best of my ability, and now I try to be a better grandmother, than I did as a mother, learning from the mistakes I had made. But I believe that when God gave us the title, and opportunity, of mother, and father, He knew there would be mistakes made, and all He required of us was to do the job to the best of our ability, and any mistakes made shouldn't be put on front page. There is no perfect parent. Strange thing though as deep as the love I have for my mother, RIP, and in my eyes I saw she did a perfect job, with us, she often let me know she was not perfect. I guess the saying Love Is Blind, has truth, because I don't see any mistakes she made, but I know we all make mistakes, just glad my eyes were covered from seeing her's. A mother to me is about the closest to God, as you get, because we came out of her, and is the first face we see, after birth. A mother is special, so good or bad, love your mother, and honor her.

The one thing that I dislike about this series is the constant repetition of this theme: An adult that was emotionally abused as a child is the one that is required to make amends. It should be the other way 'round IMO. A child does not ask to be born - it is the parents that brought the child into the world and it is their duty to care for it, not to abuse it.

Geez! Gayle's dad was a real douche! I'm surprised that Gayle didn't remember being in an accident 'cause of drunken driving. And I really didn't like when he called his own daughter "the kid"

This Catholic idea of "probation" may be entertaining for television, but it's not Biblical. There are no second chances, people. Don't be fooled.

He's not on probation for getting into heaven. He's already made the cut. He's on probation for getting his angel's wings. I don't think anybody's trying to fool anyone here. And I'm a protestant. The main thing here is they are trying to teach biblical principles as opposed to the anti-hero, bad guy is really the good guy type of garbage we are hammered with today.

Disclosure - I am a religion friendly atheist. I think, my friend, that you may have missed the point about Christianity. It's all about second chances, and third chances, and fourth chances, and fifth chances ...... We're human beings, and that means that being an idiot is built in ...... fortunately, like all good fathers, the Christian God seems to be quite forgiving of that.
