Actually, she wasn't safe with kidnappers as well. It is shown there was one particular henchman in Randeep Hooda's gang who had bad intentions towards her. Hooda himself had said if nothing profitable happened, he would sell her. And I found that very realistic because that's how the world is.

Its only Alia's second film. Though it is based on Stockholm syndrome but it also highlights that feeling safe and comfortable is just so subjective. Her soul never felt so free and safe at home as she felt with her kidnapper. Sometimes strangers understand us more than our own family. Also how beautifully they heal each other's inner child. In the last scene it shows lil alia and randeep together happy without any trauma. Sometimes we find our healers in unexpected situations and people which might not be ideal but still very beautiful.

You understand the actual meaning of the movie well but it is not based on Stockholm Syndrome. First of all, SS normally means that someone takes the side of their kidnapper out of fear the kidnapper would hurt them. Highway shows pretty much the contrary. It's just a weird misconception that people have, that if it shows some sort of connection between the 2 it _must_ mean SS. If anything the story shows Lima Syndrome, which refers to kidnappers having empathy for their victims. Secondly, SS is not real. I wish more people knew that. It's considered a pseudo disorder by doctors. I suggest you google the origins of the term. It came to be because the Swedish police did a really bad job at dealing with a hostage situation so once free the former hostages started complaining to the media and the police psychologist basically invented the syndrome on the spot lol

She was safe, comfortable and found connection who healed her and whom she healed. It tells us to be open about our experiences instead of being closed and narrow minded because you never know where you find your soulmate.

Damn i wanted jaby and achara to watch this movie since last 8 years but nonetheless i love vivian and michael but i hope the movie is re-watched in this channel with jaby and achara

The best Alia Bhatt film to date. Period. I doubt Alia will ever top this film.. Highway is, in fact, one of the best Hindi movies ever, if you ask me.

These are just some truck drivers who belong to the rural areas but travel cross country for work. While they were looting a gas station, they saw this car who was there for a refill and took them in the loot. That is where alia bhat was abducted. It was nothing planned. That is why the whole fuss arises as she is the daughter of a politician.

Randeep Hooda was always good actor, mostly underrated, underutilised. But this was the first movie where Alia showed that she is not just a pretty face from nepo generation, but actually has decent acting chops as well. Imtiaz Ali also deviated from Rom Com, and with some AR Rehman magic, gave us the unforgettable Highway journey.

@Cinedesi One suggestion for MOVIE watch JANNAT 2 most of the Emraan hashmi movie were really good and had unexpected ending for the that era audience . Jannnat 2 was one of my favourite . Please watch it .Would love to hear your take on his movies

I have to say hi and be friends with one of my older cousins who used to forced himself on me when I was 6-7. I don’t wanna even look at his face, maybe he thinks I don’t remember but I do. He was probably 16. I didn’t even know then what it is. Now that I realise I can’t say this in family to anyone, my mom would probably unalive him. But I stay quiet thinking of his mother who is such an angel.
