I remember this radio broadcast as a child - one of my big operatic memories!! Great Domingo and Baltsa!!! 💜

I was fortunate to see Baltsa sing this with Domingo in Covent Garden in the beautiful Sidney Nolan production during a Proms performance in the summer of 1985. It was her debut in the role and made a bewitching and seductive Dalila. She was at her height of her powers then and was a firm favourite in Covent Garden. Those were memorable times with such great singing actors and the redoubtable Colin Davis conducting.

Baltsa plays Delilah as a jealous, mischievous sprite to Domingo’s noble and conflicted Samson. Wish I knew more about the production so I could track down more info about it. Gracias ese; hasta.
