The Supreme Court, through Justice Hernando, welcomed 3,812 new lawyers on December 5, 2023.
The 2023 Bar Chair highlighted the positive changes in Bar Admission through the digitalized and regionalized Bar.
Justice Hernando introduced 17 of the 24 examiners on stage, who are renowned experts in their respective fields.
He also announced that the national passing rate is 36.77%, praised the performance of law schools nationwide, and lauded the top 20 examinees.
Justice Hernando reminded all Successful Bar Examinees (SBEs) to comply with all the Canons of the Code of Professional Responsibility and Accountability. The 2023 Bar Chair reiterated that this new crop of lawyers must be accountable in all their actions and fully adhere to the rule of law.
Upon successful completion of the mandatory clearance procedures, the 3,812 SBEs are expected to take their Lawyer’s Oath and sign the Roll of Attorneys on December 22, 2023 at the SMX Convention Center.
Justice Hernando shared his hopes and words of encouragement for the examinees who did not make it this year, and fervently urged them to “do more, to exert more, and dream more, because it’s not the end of the road.”
The livestreams on KZread and Facebook garnered more than 500,000 views.
