And for that one brief exciting moment it looked like Poland was going to smack team USA in the face and steal their lunch money. But still, wow, two great goals by Poland even if one was disallowed, on a heavily-NHL-stacked team USA. Very impressive.

@@dgb921 it felt closer than that for most of the game. Canada beat Britain by the same score but that had an entirely different feel to it. Score isn’t everything

John murrays hockey db page is insane. Looks like he hasnt played pro hockey in well over a decade? Spent time in the echl and played just 1 ahl game a long time ago. I remember him from the kitchener rangers of the OHL from when i was a kid. Very cool to see a performance like this from him!

Poland at least didnt get thrashed like Kasachstan! Kasachstan got thrashed by Germany 2:8 ! Team USA demolished them 10:1 ! Medal candidates for me are : Canada , USA , Sweden , Czechia ( host ) , Finnland and Switzerland! Outside chance but very slim my German team and Slovakia !

I am disappointed with the USA game. These two goals are so strange. The first one fell after a foul on a Pole. They had an advantage on the goal. The second one went into the goal Hockey players. Is this how the USA plays? The only thing Poles lack is effectiveness and the skillful completion of the action .I'm not blaming the judges for Poland's defeat because I know that this is not the time and moment to play on par with the USA. However, I don't like the situations in which the goals were scored. This does not bring honor to a country like the USA. The Polish hockey player was certainly fouled, a counterattack was made and a goal was scored. Regret and shame. And a hockey player driving the puck into the goal. The Polish goal could just as easily have been considered offside.

A player can slide into the net if the puck is stuck in his pads. He did not do any distinct motion. The first Polish goal was offsides by a good amount. Every team gets away with a penalty here and there. It balances out. None of these calls had to do with bias to any team. Poland needs to think about not making their goalie make 57 saves. That is not a way to win and it is not on the refs

@@Buffalosabskis I have nothing against either team. I am Polish and in this tournament, despite the losses, I only count on good matches and opposing other teams. I didn't like this goal when the Pole was knocked down in his third, in my opinion he was fouled, but that's a matter for the referees. I notice something different because even though the goalkeeper made so many saves, the USA did not have such clear actions as expected. All the goals were not due to outstanding actions. What Poles lack is probably in every element, because the Polish league, as we know, is not very strong, and when a Pole plays abroad, it may only be from the younger generation and, for example, in the Czech Republic or Slovakia. The rest play in Polish clubs. Still, I'm surprised that they can sometimes be as good as the best. The Swedes expected to beat us 12-0. This is a tournament and teams are also calculating here. But as we know, even a few seconds may pass between scoring a goal and scoring a few, even if the match is good. From my observations, Poles lack good finishing and technique because they sometimes lose the puck in the attack. However, I don't know because I'm not an expert in this matter, but it also happened to the USA. Maybe it's due to the other team's defense. The second thing is that Poland is not very good at playing with an advantage. And the next element I miss is actions like driving away from the back of the goal and playing to the player running towards the goal.

World Jrs is more of a test of the development and how the US has done in recent times there shows a lot for USA hockey. They are using a 19 year old goalie and don't have Jack Huges or Jack Eichel and that's just players named Jack. This is not the best available team for USA or Canada. This is a tournament that gets the same attention as the Spangler Cup in North America. I always feel this is more for countries like Latvia etc

@@DZ14783 In Buffalo it's like 80% Polish. They came in the 1950's and then moved to the suburbs with the next generation in the 1970's. A very small % of people are native to the US or Canada. Most have a heritage going to a European country. I am very rare that my parents were born in Latvia and Slovakia. Most people it goes back to their great grandparents at this point.

Plenty just don't go because resting an injury is more important than a tournament that gets no coverage in the US and not even much in Canada. World Jr's is a different story

And who has a grudge against the judges ? As a Pole I think only one mistake of the referees, but it was at the first goal of the USA where the Polish player was fouled the referee did not blow the whistle and went counter to 1:0. But it doesn't change anything . In Canada and America it was probably said easy game 10:0 effortless against a team that 2 years ago was in the 3 league hockey.
