I'm still amazed to watch Sophia Smith play. I got to watch her play for a couple years with Colorado Real in the Development Academy; then to Stanford, and now professionally. She's been the real deal her whole life.

Where the hell was Bella? I don't recognize this new keeper but she was terrible. The first goal was 100% her fault. Indecisiveness. Bad pass in a dangerous spot. 4th goal was also her fault. Someone (coach) needs to talk to her and settle her down. Or just bench her. Thorns would have won if not for that keeper.

She’s on maternity leave man…..have you read the news? She won’t be back this heat from what I understand. I hope that SHELBY hogan settles down or else Kozal is gonna play minutes in GK. Offensively we struggled. Nothing more to say.

That is true she is……Shelby is not a bad GK she is inexpereinced. That is the cruelty of the game. You win and lose…..as they say in the pro level in the nWSL you can’t win the NWSL title every year. You have to scratch and crawl for every win. In order for the THORNS to lose other teams have to knock us out of contention but that wont happen. KOZAL might be the new GK or get someone who is experienced.

I'm sorry for being critical and pointing at one individual after a team defensive failure, but our goalkeeper was terrible, she was often out of position and her decision making passing the ball was critically in error.

Thorns backline looked disjointed under pressure.

*Just to see Janine Beckie and Sophia Smith playing football is worth whatever the price of the ticket is. Beckie plays like an American because she is one of us (She was born in Ol' USA).*

It was expected from the current to come out strong in front of a record crowd in their new home field. The Thorns coaching staff did not sketch a successful game plan for the players. Not a big fan of the coach. They fought back and scored 4 goals while almost put a couple more in the back of the net. They do have some major issues at the goalkeeping position and a very shaky backline. It's a long season. Anything can happen.

True good point MIKE NORRIS is not a bad coach…..look at RHIAN Wilkinson she was.1 good coach…and won a title in 2022….wee have to try to win 1 with Norris or someone else..if we dont get at least 3 wins the next few games. Ya right every team will struggle I think the GK is the problem without BELLA it will be tough without her on MAT leave. Kozal can the next goalkeeper if Shelby continues to struggle. It is only 1 game. The thorns need to get it together.

Congratulations to Sophia Smith and Janine Beckie. Each of you got two outstanding goals for the Thorns. The rest of you ladies have fought hard, tenacious and GRIT to come back and almost at least tie the game. Too bad, with out Bixby was the reason for the loss. Hogan was inexperienced, short, and didn’t know any better to keep the goal cleaner!!! She needs to be trained More and quick before other games coming! Fleming, Beckie, Coffey, Hubly, Smith, Hina, you all did your job WELL !!! Please keep it up. It’s only first game of the season!!! Best wishes!🌹💖⚽️🇺🇸👍🤩

Great match but we did not play welll Shelby needs to step up as a new goalkeeeper if we are gonna stay in this race early on. Losing this game by 1 goal is not enough…..without Bixby it will be tough to if we don’t get it together if we are going to win a 4th title it’s about defense and scoring goals and getting results. Yesterday was a bad luck game. Shelby Hogan needs to step up her goal keeper game if she wants an opportunity to start….Lauren Kozal is a rookie….she needs to practice to get her game going everyone else on the team needs to do their role. as a fan just saying. GO THORNS!!!!

That needs to be her worst game of the season. Get it out of the way now. Goal 1 and Goal 4 can’t happen again on the professional level. I was shocked. Coaching needs to get her confident and tell her to be decisive. At least the backline settled in, in the second half and much better. Especially Obaze and Muller who were shaky in the first.

This game was embarrassing to watch. The thorns defense team was non existent, the goalie had zero situational awareness, hesitated way too much. I'm glad they made somewhat of a come back.

Keeper cost the game

Absolutely shambolic goalkeeping and defending. I never seen a worse defensive display from the Thorns in my life

I have become a big fan of professional women’s football (soccer), but it is clear that the quality of play is far superior in the English WSL than the American League. I don’t know how and why such a gap has arisen.

I feel the same about both Europe and England. FA WSL, the same 3 teams. France has 2 kind of. All the other European teams, one I think.

The Kansas city current is a fun team to watch. I was disappointed to see the camera on Patrick Mahomes's wife. Next will be Taylor Swift and her Swifty crowd. That's not fun.
