Footy is all about the mind these days, not about which team has the more talented playing list. I reckon that quite a few Swans ' players let it get inside their heads how well they had played last week, how poorly the Cats had played last week, and that because of it they believed all the talk during the week that the Cats had next to no chance of beating them. Surprise, surprise.

Exactly! Can thank Essendon's inept effort after quarter time last week for Sydney's false sense of superiority for tonight's game. I say that with a heavy heart as Essendon is my team. I'm glad Geelong kicked them out though, if they could steal a premiership this year I'd be okay with that. Or perhaps Richmond also, poor bastards, give 'em something to get excited about, they are about due. I wanna see Richo or Mick Molloy have a stroke or faint live on TV from sheer joy.

A BC If you are injured then dont play, his corked thigh is from last week. And If you are regarded as best player in league then you should perform esp in big games....2012 GF as a hawk he was ok but inaccurate, 2013 GF, 2016 GF and this year he didnt perform

I'm 20 years old. Very grateful to see how well we have played this year and throughout all the years, we have a great players and the future looks very bright for us. I think what happened this year was we worked so hard to get to the finals we basically ran out of legs against a side that wanted to redeem themselves. Swans were fatigued. But it was a great effort to make the finals after losing the first 6 games. But we need to get off to a better start next year, because as stats show your most likely going to go far in finals by finishing in the top 4.

Melican would have been a great addition last night in defense instead of Cunningham also would not have played the big Bud, Tippett for me a player injured has no place in a final when the stakes are high, Swans did a good job of coming back from 6-0 to make the finals, Since 2012 GF Swans have been the bridesmaid until they get some run and precise kicking and a plan B into our game good sides like the Hawks will continue to have our number

I don't see how people think the Swans choked? They have played elimination finals since round 6 and eventually they would run out of steam. Next year when they have all their players for the start of the season they would be able to rest players during the season and keep them fresh. If they actually kicked straight the game would have been a whole lot closer.

i dont get how people think its any harder on sydney because they went on a big winning streak? Every team played 23 home and away games so they should be as fit as any other team in the finals.

Congrats to the Cats great performance, didn't really see that coming like surely many others:).Sydney what a season especially from where you came from,no doubt you'll bounce back in 2018 all the very best to you & of course the Cats against the Crows:)

Urgent update: entire swans team MIA. Sources say the team had gone in search of buddy who was last seen chewing on a tennis ball at some point earlier in the day. He hasn't been seen since. A neighbour suggested they check under the porch - "it's cool and shielded under there. It calms him. Especially when his Geelong loving relatives come over." The neighbour also reassured the team "not to worry". Buddy often reemerges for meals or on payday. In related news, Cats win due to forfeit - not enough men on the field.

Once again, the umpiring was atrocious. It's either corruption or incompetency. Cannot wait until there's some accountability.

A week later Geelong loses to Adelaide and Adelaide loses to Richmond in the grand final so in the end really only one winner

Also good effort by the swannies to end up only 2 games from the grand final after a 0 & 7 start in 2017 but who really care now only tiger supporters like my cousin they won the grand final Geelong didn't swans supporter
