Stevie J suffered a similar injury in the 2011 Preliminary Final, but managed to come up fit to play in the following week's Grand Final. He was one of Geelong's best players in the premiership decider. Max Holmes can get there too.

delusional, it's called good salary cap management. Why would a player get paid at carlton for 500k year when they could play at club with on the best cultures in the AFL for 300k, spread that out among 20-25 other players and thats an extra 1.5-2mill to play with for the cats

Not to mention the combined salary for Hawkins and Stengle who kicked 94 goals between them for the H & A season is only 380k! For two players better than the majority of other clubs tall and small forwards are payed a fraction ahahah

@Hazza Yeah credit where it’s due. I can’t stand Geelong but the way they’ve managed their list and players over the years and not massively overpaying anyone has been top tier. They’re a powerful club that’s always been in premiership contention more or less for the last 15years. That makes them a destination club and means players are willing to go there or stay there for less $$$. Since they know they’ll be playing in a strong team that’s always got a real shot for a premiership. They’ve more or less just set themselves up really well.

@Justin Kassis Stengle on delisted contract, but will probably get a nice pay raise this year or the year after that. Hawkins only taking 300k a year with his last contract extension, he said in 2020 that he doesn't want the money he just wants to win a premiership again.

I don't care what you guys say about beating up in the best players, it's just f..ing cheating and Chris Scott was a f..ing expert at dirty play... you can all go on about its a man's game blah blah blah, it's time you all realise that's the reason Aussie rules is a dying sport in Australia for young kids, don't won't to hear your crap, just look at the figures australia wide.. most watched sure , most played probably a bad 4 or 5th.
