    When MLF started, I wasn't a huge fan of the style. I was so used to the 5 fish limit, I didn't like the cumulative weight limit. Over the years it's grown on me. Not simply because of the excitement, but also because they take the care of the fish into consideration. I can't stand when Bassmaster guys slam their fish on the deck. The catch and release is great too. It gives the fish the least amount of stress. It's also been much better with heavier weight limits on the lake. It's much more fun than watching guys finding dink city and weighing in a bunch of 1 pounders. I also dig all of the coverage and longer tournaments. I get to watch a decent amount of each day. It's definitely my new favorite pro circuit!

    DrZoo the two tournaments so far this year have been so much better than last year with the increase to a two pound minimum. I couldn’t stand watching the pros fishing finesse presentations to catch 50 1-1.5 lb bass. They are swinging for the fences like a 5 fish tourney but every fish counts. It’s so much better to watch.

    Can’t say I like the tie-break rule. Most fish!?! No! Big fish should be the determining factor. I give more kudos to a dude catching a six-pounder than the guy with three twos.

  • @marineintel2651

    @marineintel2651

    4 жыл бұрын

    It's exclusive to MLF rules. The rule is there because hitting the carpet removes their slime coat. There is another two minute penalty if they don't release the fish below the gunwhale of the boat. I am all for it because not only does it protect the fish, but it adds another competitive element to the sport.

Next, Im going to say, Isnt it funny that the biggest fish and bags were caught years ago?!!!! That my friend is the absence of fish conservation and the ability to control what happens to your catches during a whole day on the water. You want to see big bass and at the same time you are giving them a death sentence! Look up the statistics and see for yourself, You are not preserving the sport you love! Finally some of these professionals get it and are full on board! You should seriously rethink!
