Regarding DesMoines what do you think about its torpedo protection which is only 7% compared to every other T10 cruiser (17% minimum) . I just noticed this yesterday and I think it's a bug of ingame statistics

"Now he's double radar'd. He's going to take double damage." Careful Flamu, WG might take that idea and make it a captain perk. I can see it now: "Crushing Radar" Deal additional damage to enemy ships based on how many friendly ships are detecting it with radar.

It's so satisfying be in a nose in battle with petro cuz DM can humiliate petro by destroying both of its front turret. This tend to happen quite frequently since petro players are overconfident with their tier 11 ship

Um what? DM guns get easily broken by Petro guns, not the reverse. Petro guns are tankier and have way more pen which means you are virtually garaunteed to get full pens when you aim to break enemy guns

Sure petro has punching power of a bb. All that is pretty useless though when DM can shoot twice as fast and it snowballs over there. Plus most nose im battle will be in closer range so all that turret tankiness? Not a problem now. Petro breaks balansgrad guns Dm breaks petro guns Smolenks breaks dm guns Rate of fire matters Edit: bonus. Mino breaks zao gun

Yes DM fire rate breaks Petro's guns much consistently. Got trolled quite a few times in ranked lol.

@@Pandemic1313 in 10km range, DM easily break Petro's gun first 10-14km, Petro is favored Pass that no one can hit each other's turret, but but but, DM can easily burn Petro down to the bottom of the ocean.

@@danh7411 retyping comment cuz i misread that. I never actually try 10km since DM kind have a lazy ballistics. Usually im going at 7km~ish for the AP to start shredding petro's gun. Sadly it is not as easy to do that on balansgrad and moskva

DM is amazing when played well. Still my fav cruiser for ranked and clans.

Des Moines is my babe in Clan Battles. The ship has lovely utility, especially in a defensive role. It has happened when I've been told "go to that cap on your own, delay them, stay alive". A few minutes later, I've single-handedly killed all three ships on my flank and have started to cap. I guess another way to put it is that Des Moines can do superhero plays. You have all the tools to do it, and sweet mercy, it feels glorious when you pull it off.

@@IIIJG52 On that particular occasion, it really didn't. I simply put myself in a good position and exploited it. The opposing team didn't make any substantial mistakes. They had no choice but to push in and they simply had no way of dealing with a camping DM on that part of the map.

Except, as Flamu showed, HE spam is the move of last resort in DM, you want to be firing AP all the time if at all possible, and only switch to HE if ships go nose in or you are shooting a DD. AP Desmo is the monster you should really fear! It’s not that hard to charge and kill full health BB’s one on one in DM with the AP if you can make them shoot your belt in return.

@@DevilWarshipper Even if the enemy BB shoots your superstructure, you outtrade them with AP by shooting their superstructure. Remember, oversaturation is a myth on BBs, you can get constant 6-9k salvos on the superstructure. BB can do the same to you, just 3x slower.

I’m close to getting DM as my first tier 10 and I’m hella hyped

the hindy and Hanover going to the 9 Line where they cant shoot anything due to the giant mountain, when the stalin already pushed through there and the only ship left is a 1 vs 6 GK.

Ranked has been a nightmare.

I gave up on ranked when they introduced super ships and submarines into it and then dropped T6 from the bronze level. Nice match though.

Well 9 us 203s with that nasty ap and around 5 sec reload yea it's always gonna be nasty

Its all about positioning. Find an island where you can peak and then get the hell out. Take your time and don't hang around.

You have to angle 27mm bow but with some angle it bounces.

Play Des Moines like it's made of glass. If a battleship looks at you, you die. Be cautious, use islands and keep an eye on anything that might be moving to flank you. Positioning is critical in Des Moines, more so than most ships, and it's a hard skill to learn.

I very much feel you, try to watch some youtube vids and just watch where good Islands are. Also dont be greedy, one okay salvo is never worth it if you get slapped for half your hp

my all time dmg record with DM is 275k sooo yea it's a really good ship but i find shooting from behind islands kinda boring

desi is just disgusting, love that ship. i thinkmy favorite part with the desi is how it really rewards good play and punishes stupid play mercilessly. wish more ships played like her... too many are forgiving for dumb play.

She kinda outclasses Zao, Nevsky and Goliath. It's the jack of all trades with good range, dispersion, HE pen, DPM, survivability and utility. But why run that instead of Petro? Idk, maybe people just have more Hinds instead.

yes, in this patch 2ndary, AA gun and torp tube can't be destroyed but will be fixed next patch. Enjoy your German BBs while you can (or Kremlin).

Not at all. Des Moines still has poor ballistics, paper armour, an exposed citadel, mediocre concealment, etc. It's a less extreme version of Minotaur: devastating when played well, abysmal when played poorly.

Des Moines is OP and is better than Petro in the hand of a unicum, but in a bad player's hand (that's like 60% of the playerbase), I would rather let them play Petro, simply because they won't get remove out of existence when they do mistake like other cruisers.

If DM was Russian people would have a meltdown about how OP it is
