High Voltage Playing Safely

Playing Safely by having experience,
and carrying out a Risk Assessment.
Experience is gained by playing.
The best inventions are always created by individuals playing at home.
The first TV, the first vacuum cleaner, the first engine...the list goes on.

***** DUDE!! My God when i saw this video i am wondering is it Nikola Tesla going to rise up from the death and smack you in the face! -.- Some people told for you that you are a genius. Thats ok. I can say that too. But why then you do something useful for mankind and keep going with a some research where Nikola Tesla could not go any further. Instead you pop this and that., and all those transformers....for what?? Too many amps too many volts bla-bla....heating up an iron chisel and lighiting up a cigarette on it. Hey!! Whats the point?? Let me ask you something. Who do you think will ever need that sick 50.000A transformer? Have you ever tried to make some research about wireless power transmission? Dude that was Tesla's invention but that could not be finished. Have you ever THINKING about improving a superconductivity technology? I can give you many examples but i hope it will be enough. You almost have all that potential and what do you do????? Playing safely with a high voltage??? O.o Wake up man!!!
I used to watch these videos of his every day when I was 13. This was my favorite channel to watch, and I was obsessed in electric motors and radios. Those were the days. That was in 2013.

Good stuff!, I went through the similar kind of assessment you did about half way through last year and determined that grinding, arc welding, and nasty HV experiments are a serious fire risk due to clutter and drums of fuel oil and hydraulic oil in here!. hence why I keep banging on about needing to sell some stuff and make room in here :P Thus, I keep it to an absolute minimum for now and hang around for a few hours after "Hot work", because, well, that is a great time to sit down and enjoy a few alcoholic beverages, and reply to comments :D. if something is on fire, I will know about it before shutting everything down cold for the night. Keep up the great work Andy!, a lot of people do this kind of thing at home, and to be honest, I hear of more terrible fires and deaths from working on cars and small engines at home due to fuel related fires and explosions!. same with oxy-acetylene kits in vehicles. 2 people died in Melbourne last year when their vans detonated, killing them and leveling the structures nearby!. -Ed

This is an experience of Nicola Tesla
Get an e-cig. Or try it. I've been using one for about 3 months. In that three months I've smoked maybe 50 cigarettes. Big difference from 20 a day. The e-cig doesn't completely eliminate the craving but it helps tremendously. Besides, e-cigs should be right up your alley. I bet you could make an e-cig better than any one you could buy.
That's the spirit! :D I always liked your approach to safety: have fun and play about, but pay attention and make damn sure you know what you're doing.
Noy sure why this is so much fun to watch... but it is.

I find your videos the most compelling viewing on the net, after space travel, which brings me to my point; any chance of building an Ion engine, at least for demonstration purposes? I realise they are not very good in the atmosphere, but I'm just contemplating my own death-by-space travel. I think that's how I might want to go. I can build the rocket, just not practiced with electrics. Yours sincerely FC
