I see the problem! You did not follow the manufacture's instructions completely! You were supposed to connect the fluid input tubes to a gasoline (petroleum) pump! This makes the dry cycle heat up very nicely! It sanitizes your dishes like they have never been sanitized before! And it makes the dishes smell as fresh as a daises The next one you purchase, do that & you won't be so bitterly disappointed.

@Ozziepeck11

@CC-rp8hm
9 жыл бұрын
Adam Mattson Yes in normal operation, but that assumes all safety devices are indeed working. As seen by this example the heater was left powered on until the plastic simply caught fire. What if that had been in your home and the heater just decided to come on in the dishwasher due to some fault while you were away?
@brucewrigleysgumchewz4667
9 жыл бұрын
Adam Mattson lol troll , Bosch dishwashers do indeed have heating elements.
@brucewrigleysgumchewz4667
9 жыл бұрын
Adam Mattson Dude, quit being so damn rude. You sir are an ass. Why don't you go look up "heating element". They come in all shapes and sizes. They come bare open or encased in some kind of enclosure. Just because it is inside some kind of plastic pipe or enclosure doesnt change the fact. There are heating elements in hot water heaters. Just like in this dishwasher, the water flows over and all around them fully submerged. The heating element here in this vid had no water to cool it down. Also, this element received much higher current/voltage input. The dishwasher has temperature control so it does NOT get full power. This vid was about a plugged pump/water drain, so he nuked the element on PURPOSE. Quit being such a rude ass son of a bitch and go back to school. You are obviously the troll here.
@CC-rp8hm
9 жыл бұрын
Adam Mattson So if it don't have a heater what heats the water? You obviously missed my point which was what if the heater decided to just come on by itself due to some fault in the electronics and didn't shut off?

Having a thought on it, I think the only way that a cooker heater could be popped, would be to stuff lots of volts into it. Possibly, lots more than what a 0-270v variac could do. I'm not even sure if it would be safe for the variac if it was adjusted for the "naughty-boy 0-460v" setting, because if the element goes *POP* while being variac'd somewhere between 300 and 460v, it would probably cause a big short and damage the variac, so a massive step-up transformer would be needed. -BBD.

I really like this chap's videos. There's a sense of humour to it all sure, but he has a method to his madness & it gives us a very important insight not only into the construction of the appliance but also as to their fire hazard! WIN!
Wilderness survival tip: Using electricity and a dishwasher alone, you can create fire.

Your videos are the best combo of electronic education and destruction. Thank you for bringing them back.
"Don't bother with these...Sh*t. Disappointed with Bosch big time". He's right too. My Bosch washing machine is flimsy and poor quality. Won't be buying another. Love these videos. I spend a lot of time watching the radio/tv repair videos and its a breath of fresh air to watch this stuff. I never though destroying things could be so much fun/therapy. I am never throwing stuff straight in the bin again. At the very least I'm taking it apart first. Love it.
I love when he says "I've opened it up carefully"
Bosch does make a good Bonfire that's for sure :)
I've always loved how you "opened it up, carefully".
My question is why does any manufacturer use anything that is remotely flammable near something that gets hot?

Adam Mattson Yes in normal operation, but that assumes all safety devices are indeed working. As seen by this example the heater was left powered on until the plastic simply caught fire. What if that had been in your home and the heater just decided to come on in the dishwasher due to some fault while you were away?

@CC-rp8hm

Adam Mattson So if it don't have a heater what heats the water? You obviously missed my point which was what if the heater decided to just come on by itself due to some fault in the electronics and didn't shut off?
Same thing happened to our dishwasher at work. He was pretty gay tho, no one was surprised.

Holy crap, I can't believe how flammable the plastic is on that thing! It looked like you were burning some kind of fuel! How can that be acceptable on a home appliance?

This is the third vid of yours I've seen, they're great. I just loved the way you dismantled the dishwasher and your droll description of it.
Bosch: we are innovating at an exceptional rate. Behold: Flammable metal! Lol!
Dishwashing with fire, screw you water. Photon, you should make another dishwasher vid, but instead of water dishwasher, use gasoline (or ethanol). See how much it can be heated before it explodes. In the name of science of course. And better not do it on your backyard.

LOVE THIS CHANNEL. Opened it up carefully lol😂😂😂
I had one of those for 16 years. Only replaced it due to new kitchen. Wanted a fitted one. Only ever had one small problem with it. A piece of a broken dinner plate got stuck in the drain pump. Easy fix. Much much better build quality than the one we bought previously.
Thankfully, most American dishwashers are a much simpler design. They use more water but hardly ever catch fire.
What they build these things out of, thermite?

I have been waiting for this one :-) This was the first video that got me in to this chanel. :)
Oh god, if the clog appreared somewhere in the heater's feed line it could've started a fire in your house. Well, i'm sure you have an incredibly advanced fire system. Given of what you do for a living O_o

supposed to be yeah, doesn't mean that it will always have water going through it, it only needs to get clogged up or for the house water supply to be switched off / water pipe unplugged while in use for that heater to run dry.

Considering how much burned, it's for the best it didn't happen indoors.
You know, that's probably some really toxic smoke and fumes getting put off by all that flammable plastics...

Yeah, really. I'm shocked at how flammable the plastic was on that thing. I just expected it to melt and maybe smoke a little, but it actually burst into flames as if you were burning firewood! That's insane and super dangerous!
He should put a garburator on the variac and drop various random things in it for some "Naughty Boy Time".
As an appliance repairer, I wish I could do this to some machines 😂
Haha, that was very entertaining! Thank you for doing and uploading this. Greeting from The Netherlands :D

Nothing like a nice cheery fire in the dishwasher to make everything feel cozy-like.
i got a bosch too, thought bosch was pretty decent , but the one we have faild many times too, and i just took it out and cleaned it all out.
I think these were actually recalled because they're so flammable.
This vid really scared me. I agree to "no more dishwasher"! Or at least, don't have it running without supervision with an axe in one hand and a fire extinguisher in the other.

-BBD.
The Manufacturers did think it through, they DESIGNED it to FAIL for the SEARCH FOR MORE MONEY!
YOU ARE THE BEST!
