"A dancer who didn't fit in" Shes white, blonde, skinny, and she dances good, how exactly did she not fit in thats like the ballerina stereotype
@BiancaRaymundo
8 жыл бұрын
+Jessy B She dances quite good.But ballet is an extremely strict form of dance and the girl is probably one of those 'rebellious dancers' who preferred to do her own thing.The part about her being white,blonde and skinny.Well, being skinny doesn't always help with dancing,ballet dancers are not skinny but they have some lean muscle that helps with dance

Arabella Tan not really, I can just spoil the story its about this kid needing a visa to stay in America so he enters a competition and wins by incorporating classical music, hip hop and ballet over the other contestants less creative performances
The beautiful, blonde ballerina who, didn't fit in...and the model-perfect violinist with a very posh accent who didn't belong.... I DON'T BELIEVE YOU!

guys don't let the trailer fool you.. this movie was sooo great! im not a dancer or a musician, but i know arts, and this movie definitely showcased great performance.

This film is an elevation of the formula: two gorgeous misfits finding their place, finding each other, bickering, then coming together for the big finale. This is different: it's connected, the dance and music sequences that emerge from nowhere manage to connect with the story and main thread. There is a lot of music and many dance sequences, they're top-notch and the film moves along quickly. The finale number makes sense, has the expected tension and predictable ending; but it's a gorgeous number and is very moving. Don't worry about the Jane Seymour reference, she has a tiny part. The leads are the real stars. Gorgeous Nicholas Galatzine, who was an awkward nerd just a couple of years ago in THE BEAT BENEATH MY FEET, has blossomed into a beauty and grown into those luscious lips. The trials of his character Johnnie are realistic and strongly tie back to the character. Keenan Kampa is a ballet dancer from Michigan, there is no dance double. She's also a fine actor and turns in a very strong performance. There are many bits of predictable drama and resolution, but the strength of the storyline and central actors overcomes objections. Best of all, this film knows where and how to end: now extended coda, it strikes a high note, resolves and is out.
I came here after watching Purple Hearts because I can't get enough of Nicholas 😭

I enjoyed this movie. Not an expert critic but the dance scenes were awesome and the lead characters had great chemistry without taking their clothes off. That's art!
This is the type of movie that you watch purely for the dancing because let's face it, the story's going to be exactly the same as every other dance movie.

The main guy in this film was in a beautiful film called Beat beneath my feet, it's one of my favourite films. I went to see it at berlin film festival and met Nicholas, it's definetely worth taking a look at.
This movie is great, don't let the trailer put you off!!
Came here from TwoSet 😬
I saw this movie the summer of 2015 at Texas Ballet Theater’s summer intensive. Ben Stevenson knew Jane Seymour if I remember correctly so like 40 of us got to see it quite a while before it came out😂
I dont care how many times they do this. I just love these films. I am always up for good music, a great chemistry and great dancing. I say I love. I loved this and I loved these movies since I know center stage.

going to be honest here~ thank god the dancing in the movie is phenomenal, because the acting made me physically cringe multiple times lol. but i really like how the movie mixed contemporary and classical music and dance, kind of criticizing people who like purely one or the other
