I'm pretty sure those are just placeholders here as there hasn't been a final decision yet. Alstom, AnsaldoBreda (now Hitachi Rail Italy), Bombardier Transportation, Hyundai Rotem, Kawasaki Rail Car, Siemens, Sun Group U.S.A. partnered with CNR Tangshan, and Talgo all expressed intrest though

Indonesia has complete the high speed railway between Jakarta and Bandung. On August 17th 2023 there are have a ceremony of commercial high speed railway operations between Jakarta and Bandung.

The guys that estimate the cost works for the contractors. And the land that they took hasn't even been payed for. Just ask the farmers who are still waiting for payment.

This is great! Cant wait till its done. Now you just need to add a drop off zone near Disneyland so I can get there faster! lol

I can't wait for this. Once this is done, I'll never drive to LA again from Sacramento but always take the high speed rail. I'll also give the airlines the finger as they continue to increase their rates for less room and less services.

Chris Sanchez it's simple common sense and market behavior. HSR will always cost less because of its cost structure. It's an expensive investment upfront but to upkeep it and fuel it's a joke compared to airliners. The only thing technology wise that will beat this in cost and speed is probably that hyperloop. HSR is the top public transportation in the world atm. I'll be excited for Tesla's shit once it's all built and functioning though lol.

Do you realize that the video you're commenting on is *ten years old?* California HSR has been over budget and behind schedule. When it *actually* gets finished, the fair will be higher than first announced, it will travel slower, and the route will be shorter. California has been mismanaged for decades. (Are you enjoying your current round if "rolling blackouts?)

@@djm5687 If they hadn't been sued for 7 years before the could start building, 2021. Now 2029 for Merced to Bakersfield, and the longest tunnels in North America are supposed to be complete in 2033

These train sets carry more people at a time.It's about 900 to 1000 passengers per HSR train sets or two 747 jets side by side before takeoff. :o CA might have 10 car train sets.Middle car cafe! :D

It includes the longest tunnels in North America, and is entirely elevated in the Central Valley, not to mention no grade crossings after San Jose, so 45K a foot is a good price for it.

3hr train ride + 20 minutes of extra travel time vs 1hr plane ride + 20min security + 45min (x2) travel between airports and downtown(s) + 20 minutes of extra travel time: Rail: 3 hrs 20 mins (comfortable & productive) Air: 3 hrs 10 mins (not-so comfortable and not-so productive) So, I won't say Rail wins out, but it will definitely compete with air travel. Plus, HSR doesn't have to worry about frequent haze at SFO (which caused pilot error in the crash of an Al Nippon Airways Boeing-777). And with rail you can look out the window and be eye-level with the landscape whooshing by.

20 years: no track so far. A few bridges near Fresno. Great. Cost: $$$ one million dollars per foot of track (or more). Completion date: the distant future (if ever). Ticket prices (never mentioned) will likely be similar to Eurotrain: HIGH!

Some questions for the High Speed Rail (HSR) project. 1. How much dirt can one homeless person with one shovel move in one 3 hour workday? 2. Where will the secure housing facilities be built along the various routes for California state inmates working off their sentences (i.e. 1 day of labor=1 minute taken off sentence)? 3. Once completed and running what will be the pay and benefits packages given to all the farmers and small business owners and their employees whose lands and businesses were ended by the CA HSR line and will be working as porters, luggage handlers, and assorted service personnel?

HAHAHA 2 hrs 57 min, THAT'S funny, not the way they are building it. If it was built in the middle of I-5 under the Grapevine, with branches off to cities in the Central Valley and then under Altamont, I could see 3 hrs SF-LA. They way it is now more like 5 to 6 hrs.

@@AVeryRandomPerson do you even know about brightline west? companies CAN build different type of sytems but you in the US can't just see that brightline is building 200 mph rail in calafornia between palmdale and las vegas and they will use CHSRA tracks to go to LA but i think brightline should build it themselfs

PLEASE be sure to include a component that onloads and offloads private vehicles quickly. I and many other drivers tied to our cars will have no need for it if it can't carry our automobiles to these destinations.

America is too big and dynamic to have a singular approach to its GROUND/LAND transportation needs. A state by state H.S.R. investment needs to be started in America's congested traffic regions/zones/mega-cities.

An absolute joke

When Prop 1A was written, the estimated cost to build from LA to SF was $30-40 billion. Today the estimate, according to the HSR, is $69-99 billion. That is 200-300% over the original estimate. This project is a HUGE failure.

Complete joke just a waste of money its been how many years and the price has tripled and still have nothing its a fraud on taxpayers
