If the young man was a senior then he should be charged as an adult.

😮 This is sad, please keep all of us in your prayers. As an educator, I'm hurt that this sub was treated in this manner. It's already difficult to keep highly qualified teachers but, subs are a rarity.

💜💜💜😑If you’ve “had it” then stay your narrow behind at home and leave the classroom to students who actually want to become something other than a future criminal. 🤦🏽♀️💜💜💜💜

problem is, parents of the little sh&ts will say they have an angel child and demand they be in the classroom, probably because they can't deal with their evil demon at home

I agree ☝🏾!!! A lot of kids come to school to be disruptive, disrespectful and make it hard for others to learn. Since they don’t want to be there at school, they figure it they will make it terrible for others. Especially when they don’t understand the material, they get jealous at others who do understand it and want to learn.

I can’t believe he would hit an elderly person that’s trying to help him academically. No respect!!!! I wonder how he treats his parent(s).

This is a shame. And Eddie is right don’t wait too long to retire or the kids will do it for you. So when those daily headaches won’t give up it’s time for you to give up. The saddest part is that MOST teachers show up daily with a heart to teach hoping that SOMEONE has come to school to learn but MOSTLY the students come to socialize and see their friends. They couldn’t care less about learning. Except for the very small hand full who come dedicated to their education.

I had a student threaten to hit me with her Chromebook. When I took her to the building principal, the student admitted that she made the threat to me and told the building principal that she wasn't going to do anything but give her ISS. Why did the building principal not give her any consequence for her threat and the building principal said that the student will apologize to me or write an apology letter to me... 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡.

I would have politely thanked her for her "words of wisdom", put in for all my vacation/sick leave effective immediately, and put in for a new job at a private school if possible. How in the living hell can you teach a room full of crazed manics unprotected?

Lol… nothing is going to happen to this kid. You know it, I know it. Mom and Dad will come in with lawyers at the ready and the entire system will fall at their feet and apologize six ways to Sunday to this poor, poor child who obviously has issues and needs to be coddled and soothed. And they’ll cry racism - or whatever ism is popular this week - against this guy who left the school in an ambulance, and who would have been fired for hitting the kid back. I don’t miss one thing about working at a school!

True. I seen it happen before. Teachers, staff and substitutes are there to teach the material and assist students with the learning process. At times they will have time to cuddle and soothe a student.

This is what you get when you demonize discipline, corporal or otherwise. Children that have no respect for anyone old, young, and everyone in between. This is why we can not get substitutes in the classroom most days.
