High School Senior Baseball Session - Behind the Scenes
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Follow along for a behind the scenes look at one of my senior sessions at the baseball field. I love to use dramatic lighting for my seniors, especially senior guys! And I primarily use only one light! During this session I used a Godox AD600 and switched between my Canon 5D Mark IV and my Canon M50. The modifier I used was a Glow 34" Beauty Dish from Adorama.

Great shots man. Awesome what you can pull off with just one light in the right place.

Thank you so much Isaac! I really appreciate that! And your app is great! When I share BTS images, it's a go to app!
You’re a great photographer
Thx so much, I am new to sport shotting, curious how you charge for your sportrait sessions? Do you charge a hourly rate with digital access for free or do you charge for digital prints or? You dont need to reveal exact amounts, just your structure and strategy for pricing?

For this one, I was using the Flashpoint/Godox AD600 and the modifier was a Glow 24" (I believe) foldable beauty dish.
Great photos! What size is the soft box you are using?

Thank you! If I remember correctly that one was 24” I think.
Do you find you still often need full power with the high shutter speed even with the light nice and close?

Not necessarily...I can't remember what I had it set on for this particular day. If it had been a really overcast day, I wouldn't have needed it at full power at all. A lot of the time, it depends on how much of the ambient light you want to show in your final image.
Could you do action shots with this one light?

If it was for one athlete, yes. When I do senior sessions with this type of set up it’s easier when you have them do the action first so you know where to place the light to make sure it’s lit well. If you’re talking about an actual game…I wouldn’t attempt that myself.

What size of soft box are you using? I want to start shooting my daughters team photos and I have the 95cm soft box… would this work? I’ve only had my light for 2 days so I haven’t had any time to practice yet. I’m a natural light photographer and this is foreign to me🥴

@@Momma41983 oh yes! That would be a great size. The one I used in this video was 24” but I’ll go with my 36” at times as well. And just practice, practice, practice. The more you use it the easier it’ll be.
