There's a story that runs in my family similar to this. Long ago, my great-great-grandfather, however, far back came to Australia with his wife leading an expedition. One night they went out camping, the husband was away from camp when the wife heard crying outside of her tent. Taking a lamp out with her, she came to the source of the crying and found a baby. Fearing that the child had been abandoned, she took it back to camp, whereupon returning she was speared through the leg. Having found what had happened to his wife, the husband took his men and hunted down the tribe members throughout the outback. Eventually trapping a member, he took him back to camp and had him tied to a post, lashing him for some semblance of retribution. A couple generations down, my grandfather went back to the descendants of the tribe, wanting to discuss this story, after so many years, the story had been passed down from generation to generation, on both sides. Even after all this time, they are still in resentment for the transgressions of the past, with neither willing to admit or understand the actions of the other. The moral I always took from this is there are obviously two sides to a story, nothing really gets forgotten but more importantly, what can be felt and heard can sometimes be a lot more ambiguous.

looks great, cant wait, normally i would be looking forward to seeing this in a small more art house cinema but now during Covid not an option for probably 6 months or more, was hoping for Vod release but no date online, says releases in Spain on the Internet this month but don't live in Spain and not sure if thats official or not anyway...hopefully we will get a date soon....

@@StrawberrySodaSodaSoda .. Aborigine and aboriginal are the correct terms. They are in the dictionary. The native American people are also accurately described as aborigines and aboriginal. Koorie are just one tribe and therefore their name does not accurately represent all Australian aboriginal people.

I have the High Ground!

Sensible comment here. As a white Australian who has travelled worldwide and lives in Asia, this subject of the terrible colonial past of the British and others is in the same boat as the appalling way many cultures and people treat others (from the treatment of Native Americans, to the Nazis and Japanese actions in WW2, to the religious based degrading of women and minorities in some cases worldwide, the belief that your 'god' is better than the other 3000, the corrupt dictators in China, Cambodia, N Korea and Uganda and so on. From great and watchable movies like, this are able to be entertained as we learn about this sick past which is still relevant today. But many today, like myself have a higher expectation and appreciation of those who are different including Australians who are becoming more and more proud of the aboriginal culture. Many of our cultures are flawed and need to change and education through this media is vital. And wow, it shows off beautiful Australia, the Earth's most ancient Continent, and Jack Thompson, a legend of Australian Cinema.
