It’s no secret that at Community Bread we love the faster, harder (and one might even say cuntier) shades of techno. We don’t mean just high BPMs or banging pots & pans. It’s a very specific restless attitude, caught in an eternal pulsing energy, that we have a deep appreciation for. You know when people say “Be the best version of yourself?” Well, we don’t know or care about being the best, Community Bread believes you should be the fiercest version of yourself. Now apply that to techno, give us a darkly lit room, some speakers & consider us happy little campers.
When people ask how we pick our lineups, it really has nothing to do with genres, followers or clout. As evident from our previous livestreams, we love everything from the warm, soulful rhythms of Chicago house, the 808 kick of a subterranean, Drexciyan inspired electro beat to a solid, cold, mechanical flogging from industrial techno. But if you ask us, what really puts a twinkle in our eye, instead of throwing around these pompous descriptions of electronic music (we know we’re being facetious), just put on a High Future mix.
To be honest, we don’t know much about her, so can’t tell you much. Aside from the fact that she’s a Berlin based DJ, hailing from Seoul Korea, what we can tell you is that High Future plays incredible music; that aforementioned specific shade of techno that really hits the spot. While everyone turned to chiller sounds during quarantine to soothe their anxiety, we. did. not. We turned to the relentless face-paced hypnotic journeys of High Future to elevate us to higher states of consciousness. Unlike most of the DJs we book for CB, we’ve never seen High Future play IRL, but having listened to her mixes over quarantine (especially her Hard Dance and Bunker Bauer mixes) we were gagged.
