How to Build A Nightstand with Hidden Wireless Charging.
Support the Show! - / chrissalomone
Using a mix of traditional #woodworking techniques along with digital fabrication, I made this nightstand out of white oak. The Modern Nightstand features modular, removable plates, which house wireless charging components and allow it to evolve down the road as technologies change.

The legs are phenomenal! Forget the wireless charging, this is a beautiful piece of furniture. Love it. You are the man!
Chris, just watched your Instagram story. First off, congratulations on going full time, you're an inspiration to me! I'm happy that I could watch you become such an amazing video maker over the last year and I look forward to seeing what happens with the channel in the future. In your hands, it's gonna be gravy.

Thanks man. Appreciate it. And at this time of year, the channel being gravy seems pretty fitting. 😉

Woah, so weird to see one of my favorite channels for one hobby commenting on one of my favorite channels of a completely separate hobby. Love ya Miniac, your vids have helped me immensely in my miniature painting journey. You've been watching Chris' vids too, so I have no doubt your woodworking skills are going to skyrocket. Your gaming coffee table build already turned out really great, and it gave me some inspiration for something similar I might tackle for a friend of mine.

I love how real and sincere the last couple minutes of these videos get. It’s very raw and real and not something you see much in this community
organic joinery TM - you got it ;) The new shop looks awesome, and it looks like it is opening up new cinematography ideas as well as new woodworking ideas!

YES! Thanks man...yeah for sure. Can't wait to get fully situated in there :)
What I particularly love about this is that Jony Ive, the chief designer for Apple, is a big fan of Dieter Rams and the kind of furniture designs he's done. It has inspired many Apple products. This seems like a lovely throwback to a Rams-era design, and to add a wireless iPhone charger to it just brings it full circle.
Congrats Chris on your success! You have earned it.
Never change !! your videos are amazing & your humour is on point :'D
Thats the way the go! You've done well! Adaptability can mean every thing, especially in a work where we consum so much. Well done
Chris, I discovered your channel a few days ago and am absolutely loving it. I have a tip (not woodworking!): the chargers normally have some tiny screws hidden under the rubber pads. If you take them out you can open the case and get rid of the plastic parts and just keep the guts. This can get the charging coil that much closer to the phone and help the charging speed.
3 years in, and I keep rewatching this one. Such a nice piece!
Always inspired by watching. Thanks Chris.
Happy to hear, that you went full time. I like your videos, so relaxing and so great projects you do. Thanks for that.
Surely I'm not the only one who burst out laughing at "whilst everything changes, well, other than my night stand. That's the only constant in my life" :D I've been watching your videos for about a year. I don't even own many tools, let alone do any woodwork! I like your work, your videos and your humour :D

Congrats on the new space and hitting YT full time! So excited for you Chris! Keep up the good work.
As a beginner woodworker wannabe I wish I couple spend a day at your shop seeing you build these pieces. I think you work is amazing and the amount of subscribers doesn't make justice to your videos. Keep posting these amazing videos and builds. Thank you for sharing your work.
Congratulations on going full time. I've been wondering when that was going to happen. Looking forward to seeing your work more.
Congratulations on going full time Chris. You deserve it. Hope it's all you hoped it would be. Looking forward to the future content.
Love the nightstand and the new shop! The removable plate is really smart, definitely going to make something similar in the new year.
Just so good to watch

Beautiful.
Cool nightstand
I love this nightstand design! So clean without being overly simple and blocky. And the “swap-top” (you can tm that if you want 😆) is a great solution
Another beautifully edited video. Love everything about your work.
Congrats on going full time Chris. Must be absolutely exciting for you to move into that space and for Dolores to move you out of your garage! The white oak turned out beautifully!

Another outstanding video; thank you for doing what you do and how you do it.
A+ production. Your videos are very well produced and a pleasure to watch. Please don’t stop.
Whoa, careful with the glue on those legs Wastey McWaste. Seriously, I love that you are focused full-time on this now and I am so in with you on the journey forward. I am totally looking forward to what you do from here. That is a really excellent design for tech in the furniture. Very smart. Love you, man.

Ah finally! Someone did this. It's an idea on the surface to make "integrated" furniture. There so many things to build in to furniture. Chargers, srevos BT-modules, speakers and so on. Hope you'll continue the theme. Thanks for the video. Awasome as always.

Awsome! Congrats.
Those type of legs are so badass I love it all your projects and furniture
I definitely will buy this amazing nightstand
I've seen you explain your angled cut thing a few times and its relatively easy for me to wrap my head around the math but today is the first time I realized its actually easier to do it this way from a cutting perspective because the error is removed. You don't have to worry about being off a 1/4 degree one way or the other because of the process.
@Foureyes.Furniture

Yup! That's one of the beauty parts. No matter what you set your blade to angle wise, it'll self correct since it is locked in position and you're rotating the piece 90 degrees :)
You have awesome talent and inspire me to do more work, only wish I had your great tools. Love you stories as much as the finished pieces you turn out. Your humbleness is admirable and I wish you the very best in your ventures, you deserve it. Thanks Chris!!!

Congratulations on going full-time, Chris! I look forward to a shop tour in the future. I hope you'll add an assembly table down the line. It hurts my knees just looking at you doing your glue-ups on the concrete floor. Cheers!

Clever idea.
Dude I never comment on videos but just had to say I love your work. There are so many awesome woodworkers on youtube but you go the extra step and show your plans and thoughts for each step which makes it so helpful for new woodworkers like me. I often struggle to work out what they are working on in the over all piece but with you I know exactly what you are doing and it really helps me understand how to work through that process when designing and making my own pieces. Keep up the awesome content.

Awesome and nice looking, dude!
Very creative idea I might make a similar nightstand it’s awesome
I love it you inspire me a lot thank you for all your work and ideas. Greetings from Poland - its a country i Europe :)
Really nice charging station, me and my dad are planning on building one soon in one of our videos.
So cool man!! Maybe you could make a one similar to this where you build something like a wireless charging tablet stand where you charge your tablet on it or heck you could build one where it charges your Switch or your computer on it. Because it's nice to see your technology on display, but they're going to run out of battery so it would be nice if they were charging while you're using them (like you did for this video where you built a nightstand for charging your phone).
Lol I love you! Dude, great idea on being able to change the wireless charger .
Love the night stand, but kudos on the forward thinking👏

Chris, you are “F in” awesome! But. My mind has exploded a bit trying to keep up with the trigonometry of it all. I so wish I could see the angles like you do. Very jealous of your new work space. Good for you chap😎
