😮 Hidden Surprise in a Rusty 124-Year-Old Waltham Pocket Watch (vlog) - Respect!

VLOG: This video is a narrative on why I love watchmaking. I was surprised when I disassembled my first pocket watch, a c.1900 Waltham cal.1891 size '0' movement that I bought - without a case - for $1. What I found inside made me smile... I hope it makes you happy, too! 😎

One Century worth of potential energy created by a person long dead and forgotten. Crazy to think about it. I sometimes think that the right things find the right people. This watch was meant to be bought by you! This is one heck of a mainspring! Have a great weekend Mike!
Way to go, Mike! For the available technology back then, pocket watches truly are amazing.
That's why I've taken up watch making as a hobby. I never lose my sense of amazement at these beautiful machines. Another great video Mike!
Waltham and co are à testament of american watchmaking . From a time america was one of the best out there.
$1! That's insane! Prices like that could turn any minimalist into a hoarder! Or a hoarder like me into a super-hoarder!
Amazing,Mike.Thank you.
nice one mike the old pocket watches can be tricky !!! that power release scared me loli did watch it and i also watch up and downloading bars from windows... mike i think you got a world record here !
I hope you will restore it to its old glory!
Awesome video, Mike. So sad that as time passes, quality decreases because we live in a disposable society. Although profits are essential, a byproduct is wastefulness.
I can't believe it took that long to release all that wind. I suppose it's due to the gunk that slowed down the release.
What a fun video. Thanks Mike

You're welcome Dereck! This was a fun one to make. 😁
Besides your interesting and fun to watch videos, I must say your videography and especially your color and contrast is second to none ! Absolutely beautiful video ! I remember you did a short video on your cameras but I don’t remember the lenses you have on those cameras. Would you be so kind as to tell us what lenses you use to get these impressive vids ? Thanks Mike 🍻
It’s possessed!!!
Wanna double Your Money?... I'd Maybe stretch to $3.00?...😂 J.K. Fantastic find for a DOLLAR!.. I've just started buying some tools, going to learn how to service/Watchmaking, it seems so relaxing (till it goes pearshaped lol).
Poll it. Poll it. 😀🕐⚙️🍸
It's wrong let spinning the train bridge so fast... And old movement without fresh oil...
