OCR has been around for ages but the way its being used now is slightly differently. Google Translate for example had this feature for years

Very cool! OCR technology has of course been available with scanners and their software for 25 years, but is amazing when applied on your device. For Note users (or Ultra 21 users like me) who have a stylus, you can use the Smart select feature using your pen to select an area within the item visible on your screen (it doesn’t even have to be from the gallery), and then extract the text. You can then copy the text, or even share it immediately. Thank you for the great video!

Thanks again for all your wonderful tech advice! I have a Note 10plus, and love all it's powerful features, which brings me to my question . With Samsung gearing up to discontinue many cloud features, will we have to worry about being able to continue uploading/using Samsung Notes? I also use the very old version, "S Notes", from earlier days (many notes left from the old version), and do not wish to lose them! Just wondering if you might be able to shed any light on this upcoming issue! Thanks in advance🙂

Oh hell no!

The Google Translate app can also pick up text from a picture... Not sure I'd use the copy text function as much. The translate option seems a lot more handy, to me anyway Thx for the tip though👍

Google Photos has HD this for a while and think it still works better than the Samsung version.

You can also use smart select, simply drag and hit done, then hit extract text. It's more fun with stylus devices like the note 10 or tab s6, etc.

Google keeps digging through your files though with Bixby on... this data then probably gets added to your Google profile

Check out "Good Lock" in the galaxy store, then it's one of those sub-apps. Good Lock is what you want if you really want to customize the look of your galaxy

@@johngottie732 If you want to change colours of your quick panel, download 'Theme Park' module and you can create it there. You don't have to make a whole theme 😉 My quick panel is black with red icons when apps are 'on', white icons when they're off

Hey what case is that?

Android PlayStore & market places have very many OCR programs. So many that it is hard to choose. Most (all?) freeware, and many frequently updated.

Google lens is what I use for reading different languages it links toy s20 ultra camera when you hold your camera over the document it translated every on screen without having to snap a pic amd translating it, it just done it on screen with everything when hold.lens over the text etc it's very cool! I'm dad's tablet got hacked the other night to Chinese pinyin text we couldn't read it as soon as held my camera over the screen it Changed everything to English so I was able to press correct buttons amd read there program etc very very handy indeed!

Any feature ios has, samsung will already have it 90% of the time. But they dont market it too much like ios. Its not a big deal for them, because samsung phones are already overwhelming with features. But for apple, every new feature is a big deal since there are so few of them🤣🤣🤣

i can do this using a option which is located in edge panel. my msg to yall, this feature i guess not available on every model but the good thing is if you have edge panel on your samsung thn go to the settings find edge panel open it thn select SMART SELECT now you good to go. you want to use it go anywhere and swipe open your edge panel > select rectangle.

Google photos is better you can even call phone numbers I couldn’t get that feature in Samsung gallery

As soon as i tap on the Icon on My Note 20 Ultra 5G its always shows up "BixbyVision Framework keeps stopping" etc. and forced me to close the App, What could be the problem and could you please give suggestion to fix it?
