Hey, Thanks so much. I have the same air pump for our aerobic septic system. I was quoted $650 by our septic service company. Found your video, $270 for a new pump, $20 for wire strippers. The job took 30 min total from removal to restarting!…… Thanks again!

That sounds close to the price quote we got on ours. Hard to pay it when you see it's much cheaper if you diy. I'm glad we have helped!

Next thin you need to do. Is to take that 8/2 romex going into A/C condenser and put it in a seal tight or flex. Seal tight or car flex would be better. The 8/2 romex is not outr door rated. And in 3 to 5 years will become dangerous. Because of the insulation falling of and exposing live 220v wire.

It should also have a disconnect within a few feet of A/C condenser al8ng with a 120v gfci receptacle for service tech. All code. Thanks for the video I just replaced my pump. Had septic company rebuild old one last year. For a price that equaled out to be $5.00 less than a brand new one. And it's already out again so I said nope I'll replace it. Septic company was upset. Said I'm not a qualified tech. I said we'll I am a licensed master electrician and I'm an electrical contractor. So now show me your certification to preform electrical work. And we'll go from there.

I love it. Our septic said they wouldn't work on a pump they didn't install but for the price I can replace it again. Glad you saved yourself some money and time.

Thank you for the tip. Since we moved here recently we've been wondering how to fix this mess and also if the AC bill is so high because of the coolant lines not having proper insulation. I'll look into what you recommend for the electrical. Not sure how it ever got this bad.

So why did you go with hiblow? I'm on my 2nd hiblow , the unit I have now just started messing up and it's running very very hot and blowing very low air that my panel low air alarm is lit. I 'm thinking of the bluediamond 60 since it's like 200 dollars cheaper

Originally I was looking at pond aerators and HiBlow kept coming up as reliable. I just had to pick a brand and I wanted to match the cfm rate to the old pump. They might both be good. I do remember that some of these can be opened and cleaned for maintenance. You could be running hot and need a maintenance check but if it's gone bad I think either brand is good. Just match the flow rate. For me delivery was easy on the HiBlow so I chose convenience based on work schedule also.

You'll see the mention of green to ground at 9:00. In my case it was like for like. Whites together and Black together. But each home wiring could be different. I suggested using a voltage detector also so you know where your hot wire is before disconnecting. And be sure to take pictures before making the swap so you can go back and see what it was before
