The main problem is the dev all along. How they design arts resis in % not pure number/stat. Like Eyja got her resis ignore from the module, Vivian should get one too.

when arts guards get modules i feel like viviana will be getting a delta module which allows her to deal burn elemental damage, which would solve her issue of not having innate resistance down

You know, when I was doing the last stage of her event I was thinking of what Operator would've been great for it, and it just so happens that Vivianna was the best choice. Long Range, Increased stats vs Elites and a Multihit for the whole boss mechanic, it's almost like her entire kit was designed around this event, then I realized she was an Arts Guard that'd be put against S-Res enemies. She's taking so many L's I might start calling her Lilianna.

Id say she isnt good in this event because enemies have uber high res. But in general, she is quite okay.

truly groundbreaking

I wonder if letting her shields explode would have satisfied fans of her original appearance and boss kit. Apparently her boss kit was never "hers" and was the result of the Candleknight group sponsoring her, thus the elite enemy that seemed like a mass-produced off-brand version of her, but some extra nod to it beyond her design, some flashy explosion would surely warm our hearts Oh well, I love how she's very survivable and how S1 and S3 further fortify the line range thing even when Qiubai S1 is one of my favorite skills in the game... But I get how she falls short in the damage department when compared to Surtr. I'm just somewhat sour that Viviana S2 is too similar to Astesia S2 lol, poor Astesia, HG usually doesn't bother to help units but I'm still coping for a decent Astesia module that does more than give her extra ASPD over time

I have been seeing this opinion of her candleknight nuke is not hers but where is it stated that she can't use them after leaving nova knightclub? She should still be able to use some trace of it. Heck, her e2 talent is called nova

​@@The158Outlawsimo, as dokutah with maxpot viviana, her main demerit is that she is meant to duel boss but is not good enough to do it reliably. Her e1 talent percentage is not enough to tank high damage boss, her e2 talent is too random to be reliable. She is absolutely tanky on skill but during off skill she died from 2 or 3 attack even with heal. My hopium solution is: if we want to make her focused as defensive arts guard, double her e1 talent percentage and increase her shield stack, also maybe allow her to gain sp when shield broken like what lin have so she can be tanky from her skill If we want to make her more offensive, grant her ability to give elemental burn damage. Elemental burn deal 7000 elemental damage and give -20 res. This will complement her high hit rate from her skill and give high damage to enemy from res shred.

IIrc, her dps is actually higher than surtr... until we include fact that surtr have 20% res shred, then vivi loses badly. She also have single target dmg. Only advantage she have over surtr in specific is.. she is actually tanky, ik surtr have invicibility, but even then vivi can stand some serious dmg

Yeah, without the res shred, nothing helps vivi to get an edge over surtr. And vivi is indeed tanky yet as I mentioned in the video she aint invincible, she really needs a module to improve her shields talent

She’s good but without support there’s no way to account for her bad downtime. Not every character needs to be able to solo everything but her kit is a bit clunky right now. If she gets a module that gives her better survivability off skill it should be pretty nice.

There are times when she can just stall someone for 25 seconds just like specter/spalter while dealing quite massive damage which is something surtr often times cant do. I truly believe that she can once become a really powerful stall unit cause she has the potential to. Well see how the module changes her.

⁠@@The158Outlawsin her current state her kit doesn’t outperform or even match anyone in any role (her dps matching surtr means nothing without res ignore or multitarget, and her max potential is locked by multiple casts of her s3) She’s not like bad, she’s just not up to the current standard of six star, which makes her irrelevant. Also like I get that she’s not in the candleknight guild anymore but like… where’s her candleburst attack HG fucj the lore give me funny mechanics to play with (which is why people didn’t hate Jessica even if she isn’t insanely powerfully, she has unique mechanics and allows for interesting play)

In a few next update we gonna get zou le that basically have a better shield mechanic than her, that gonna make her value drop even lower. I know he was a psychical character,but Viviana shield mechanic should be something similar to his mechanic without needing to gamble on top of needing to hit elite/boss enemies,just press skill and get shield

Viviana is the definition of the boss when you fight him and the boss when you play as him meme In my idea she lacks a role to fit in they tried to make her a lane holder and a boss killer at the same time and what happened is that she is just OK at them she's not bad she's just not good there other OPs that can replace her and perform better Also her kit has nothing to do with her character I expected a bit more firey stuff

I do like Jess, I got her and plan on building her, but lets be honest, nothing crazy happens when you pop s3, and s2 does miserable damage. She is really focused on tanking, which she is indeed good at, but most of the time you dont need it.

This is one of the more tame opinions right now, everyone’s either way over coping or relentlessly hating on anyone who dares call her decent (which she is) Just don’t get why they released typhon, who kills elites and bosses, then release the absolute stinker that was Viviana who wishes she could kill an enemy in one skill cycle.

But just fyi I got Typhon off rate, I was trying to say she has help when doing her job since she’s a besieger, while Viviana just kinda hopes there’s no other enemies. Either way I realize I am being disingenuous, as I haven’t given Viviana a fair chance. I still think Typhon is better though, I know they’re not the same but in terms of elites and bosses she has a better suited kit.

I love that she's sorta basic and just strong. The problem with Vivi is... well, not having explosions like her boss form, but also Surtr existing. But Surtr just.... shouldnt, really. She's absurd and,imo, badly designed. More Vivis, Thorns, and Sadcat 2.0s, is imo better for AK than more Milners and Surtrs and Eyjas

@@NazuikoI agree about vivi and the need of more ops of her strenght level, but I disagree about that Surtr point, considering that: 1-AK is still a gacha game, therefore have a massive casual playerbase 2-The amount of view stage guides videos get 3-The fact that I know some players that still struggle to play the game with fully meta squads I can, assure you that Surtr and the other braindead ops are needed for the game not to die and are perfectly design for player that either don't have 3hours to figure out a EX CM stage, aren't good enough to do so, or just don't want to. Without these ops the game would be unplayable for these peoples. Also, I personaly think Thorn trivialize the game just as much as Surtr, maybe a bit less nowaday but still.

Not sure why people are soooo keen on trying to call her balanced or mid lmao. A balanced operator is someone like Exu Thorns or Jessica alter, they have their niches, have their weaknesses and offer unique elements and interactions. Exu being insane with buffs, jessuca having tons of merits and thorns being a sustainable physical dps are some of unique niches they have Viviana DOESNT. She isnt "balanced" she is below avarage and bad in any sense you would call her. Her 1st talent is bad and offers a 116% damage multiplier when such multipliers arent so important for arts damage so res ignore would been better, her 2nd talent has 0 interaction with her kit, is rng, and offers nothing outside blocking ONE melee hit. Calling this "self sustain" would be hilarious on its own Her s2 is just a flashier astesia wich wasnt a good operator and still has lesser damage than Surtr s2 her Her s3 has elite/boss holding capabilities but its litterally only usable against SOME enemies as she cant sustain herself and her shield doesnt block multiple instanced of damage or projectile damage so she is litterally unusable against any new boss in the game. Having no multiple hits means her damage gets diluted fast and on top of all this she needs 50 seconds to use her 2nd skill activation where she does competitive damage so her helidrop potential is dead on arrival too as you need to baby sit her before she does something. She is below avarage, and has no unique merits that works on her whatsoever. People got this weird tendency to call her "balanced" because they cant cope that she sucks. She isnt. Cope with it

I mean everything you mentioned is true, yet on a general basis, she melts elites pretty well, and if an elite is indeed melee(a lot of elites are) she is quite reasonable. She also has high res and defense on this skill, so safe to say she is quite decent against ranged attacks. Like lets be real, there are a lot of cases where youd need that. If anything, she seems like a laneholder of a lane with a few tough enemies. She isn't as good for a boss killer, although she can shine in the face of some(for 25 seconds if rng goes well or you brought some healing) sometimes she cant. she can technically lanehold a lane with many enemies as well, with her s2. But to properly put this - She is more of a laneholder. Which is not as good as some other laneholders, surely, but a good enough one. She also has some niche usages such as standing in front of a bosses face. Which will be essentially guaranteed against every block 1 melee boss if the module I named was to release. I personally think she isnt the worst. I used her, I didnt feel too exhausted with her. Yes, I agree, sometimes you look at her and go "wheres the damage?" but when you put her on a lane with multiple tough threats and use her for laneholding, and sometimes want to stall someone, she feels great. I dont think anybody can tell you is she trash or is she mid (certainly not good as of right now) But in my opinion, she is more of a mid operator. She still melts a lot of enemies in the game, and has a really nice range while being a melee unit and dealing arts damage. Which only 2 other characters do! characters like arene and Lappland I dont count, they do less dps than Viviana

@@The158Outlaws My issue with her is that ranged enemies are generally always the main issue anyway and her niche against most new elite and boss enemies arent that good. Her entire boss killing part is practically non existent on new content as bosses cant be easily blocked and bursted down anymore wich makes her kit way too basic to deal with it This limits her to elite enemies but she still requires healing on mid threat lanes so you will still be needing an extra operator to company her wich is her greatest weakness. She cant lane hold or hold down elites ALONE and the moment other operators are included her niche falls apart as other synergies are straight up better. It also doesnt help that many operators do have have strong elite killing skills anyway. Heck i myself never found the need for a dedicated elite enemy lane holder as having multiple helidrops in your team is the top meta anyway so youll always have someone to kill enemies with. If anything Texas alter is the true Viviana killer rather than Surtr as she herself has higher dps, res reduction and faster cycles all while not being bound to a single spot. You could argue her survivability is lesser but thats alot less of an issue when you can start killing the enemy before it becomes a threat anyway. Even without texas alter we have operators like Zuo Lee that does the exact same thing but straight up better or even Surtr s2 where she outright deals better damage than Viviana s2 all while having increased damage against a single target. Heck surtr s2 handles elite enemies much better than viviana s3 does if both are companied with a healer. People just forget surtr s2 exists So her problems are: Made with laneholding in mind but cant lanehold most lanes and needs assistance Made with sustain in mind but her shield doesnt give her anything other than blocking a single hit and is RNG Made with arts damage in mind but falls off hard against high res enemies so her performance against elites fall hard Made with dps and boss killing in mind but her s3 makes her unhelidroppable because of the dumb mechanic, doesnt have res ignore so her damage against most bosses are extremely low and multiple hits are alot worse than attacking multiple enemies. And most bosses arent stallable via blocking anyway so her shield niche becomes completely redundant Ahe can do 1000 things but fails miserably on all of them and requires immense support when her competitors doesnt. Its easy to say "just give her a healer and a defender" but how about instead of bringing two operators specifically to make viviana good why not being two operators that do the damage niche by themselves? I personally have her level 90 m6d and pot3d and viviana is just below avarage. Her kit has no unique merits and shield mechanic is litterally only usable against 4 year old bosses or some elites and because of her low damage against high res enemies she wont do too well on killing high tier elites on her own wich is like the entire point of her kit anyway. She feels like a year one operator accidently being released on year 4, the worst thing is they butchered her animations really hard...
