I inherited one if these in pretty rough shape... needed a recoil spring I thought so I called High Point to buy a new one. Customer service from High Point told me it had a lifetime warranty and to simply send it to them. They went through the entire gun, replaced all the springs and trigger and sent me a new magazine when they returned it to me for paying for the shipping to get it to them. Best customer service I’ve ever had. Shoots accurate and reliably. If they ever put a double stack magazine in them they would really sell like crazy. Not the quickest thing to field strip, but not difficult. I will never talk trash on Hi Point.

I totally agree, probably the best customer service in the gun industry. Years ago, while testing some loads, I blew the extractor out. I explained the situation to the rep, sent it in, and got it back fixed and with a new magazine within the month, all no charge except for shipping to them.

The new 9mm that Hi Point is working on, the Gen 2 Yeet Cannon is supposed to come with double stack magazines when they get around to finishing it and who knows, maybe they will bring that magazine to the carbines.

The 10mm and 45acp will run with the same redball mags (the 10 requires slight modification to the feed lips) and I do believe that is a 20 rounder for the 45 and I’ve fit around 23 rounds of 10 in mine.

I bought a Hi-point .45 just cuz i didnt own a .45 and it was the cheapest on the market..... It is big.... Bulky.... it rattles when you shake it..... But i'll be God Damned if it doesnt go bang everytime i pull the trigger. It's got a lifetime warranty and accessories are pretty cheap, if you dont got much money, it's better than a stick or club at least.

Solid video. Keep shooting it, it can take just about anything you can toss at it. Also, Redball Sports 20 round mags are the only aftermarket mags we support. They are solid reliable mags. If you have an issue with one hit up Redball, they warranty the mags the way we warranty the gun.

I just left a comment on them! I have owned two 995's over the years, and found after a break-in period, they are fantastic. Neither one has ever jammed, but when new, before the mag springs set, the first round being chambered can hang up. After a couple weeks with the mags loaded, that won't happen anymore. I beat the crap out of mine, and it just keeps going. If it is the only one you can afford, just take care of it, break it in, and train with it. It's plenty reliable and accurate if properly maintained. Gunmagwarehouse has extra mags for $17.99 a piece.

I have the .40 and really like it. I trade mags between the pistol and carbine. It's accurate, and very reliable. I'm sure most gun snobs won't like it. Only downside is the capacity. I was in the military for 6 years and was always partial to the AR platform. Now I feel as comfortable with it as my AR. You have to give anything a chance. As far as dropping loaded magazines and them becoming inoperable, I haven't had that problem. I put a bipod on mine. You'd be surprised what the little carbine is capable of. I'm thinking about buying a 9mm also. Price is great for what you get.

They are decent little carbines for the money, but would it kill them to make these a double stack? After all these years, it is still a single stack. A 20-rnd double stack mag should fit right in the grip with a 1" thick baseplate. That is the only real beef I have with it. Very nice shooting! As far as what you’ve said about the “cheapness” of the innards... I purposely ran 1500 rounds through my own 995 without cleaning it at all, and it’s never jammed on me once (but then again, I was using the Hi Point 10 round mags only, not those goofy ‘taped-together’ post-market Red Ball mags). Most of us buy this gun for home defense only, so hitting a 30 yard target dead-center right out of the box is no problem. Also, since it’s chambered for 9 mm, that means that the whole family can fire it all day at the range without any side-effects. As far as I’m concerned, it’s an ideal home defense weapon. Inexpensive, very accurate with no adjustments needed, and super-reliable! (P.S.- I’m a Lefty.)

I love my 995 and C9 and have been real happy with them both. I've been able to hit targets out to the 400ft range and be very reliable once I adjusted for wind-age and drop. When your wife was dropping the mag as she was shooting I thought of the mag release being the problem since she was able to fire 2 rounds and then drop the mag. I'm glad you figured it out and gave Hi Point an honest review. Also, Hi Point has a life time warranty. Keep up the good work.

I bought one of these new last year, paid over $300, was about $400 brand new from the store (now before everyone goes jajajajajajajaja you paid what), I'm in Canada, not America where guns are much cheaper, bought it from Canadian Tire, last one they had and said they weren't getting in anymore. I shoot it left handed (without gloves on) I have zero issues with the mag release button, I have never accidentally hit it. Only problem I have had is the bolt for the slide kept coming loose, I'd tighten it and after shooting, it would be loose again, I finally put a bit of loctite on the threads, and it has never come loose again. I like the look of the gun(Uncommon phrase for this apparently), I haven't added anything to it other than a comfortable shoulder strap so I can hike with it on my back, still just using the factory sights, never adjusted them, can hit a soda can at 100yds no problem every time. Overall I find its durable, very reliable, has never jammed on me, and pretty much point and pull the trigger and you hit the target. Definitely recommend this.

I am absolutely in love with my three 995`s and my 4595. These rifles are accurate to the extreme, so much so that even I look like I know what im doing. For the price you cant beat them. As a bonus, they are manufactured in my home State of Ohio, and they come with a lifetime warranty. I bought a CF380 on auction for $9 plus shipping and FFL fee. It was clearly junk, looked like it had been run over by a tank, but I heard about their no nonsense warranty and thought I give it a try. I shipped it to Highpoint to "fix" it and a few weeks later I get a new pistol sent to the gun shop. The warranty is truly no nonsense!

You have to hear a ricochet from a 338 LM wiz over your head. The scariest yet coolest sound at the range.

That's a different type of mag dump. Tell her it's a new record that she is giving Jerry Miculek a run for his money, ten rounds out of the gun in 0.2seconds

I shoot left and have this Carbine. I just grip high on the handle and and my trigger finger layes above the mag release while my other four are below it. Works great never have a problem. It's actually a great Carbine for the price. With the stock mags they almost sit in so I always use my finger to make they are seated instead of smacking the bottom like on my other guns. The Redball mags are the way to go over stock. Much easier to seat.

Get an aftermarket charging handle from Down Range Products. They have a variety to choose from. It's well worth it!
