Amazing how this style of music, alongside Ítalo-Disco, laid the foundations of modern Eurobeat. You can still kinda trace some similarities (like the use of drum machines and the rhythmic base) but also how they evolved a very different way in the end.

divine is SOO divine

Never get tired of listening to Hi-NRG. This playlist are tracks from England and California. Any particular reason? Canada and New York and Miami had a ton of high Energy too. Italy & Germany had ton of greats too, the same style with better melodies ,catchy lyrics and fun laughable accents typically called Italo-Disco but same sound, basslines, song structure and tempo.

Thanks! And you're quite right, mixing is far from perfect. I hope to correct that aspect in my next Hi-NRG mixtape. I was focused mainly on the selection back in 2013 when recording this and didn't care to record multiple takes.

Miquel Brown's "So Many Men, So Little Time" is quite reminescent of YMO's "Rydeen" (1979).
