I was at University no worried about one guy, traveled ALOT by car and planes with my friends, made many friends and made a few mistakes. Thank God for the Mother I have who always talked to me and the fact that she lived all stages of her life, she influenced me to do the same.

If you still love him then talk to him, explain how you have been feeling like you want to learn more about yourself if he loves you he will support you as long as you don't mess him around. You can still work on yourself while you're in a committed relationship, but you need to discuss things with him or you will eventually start to despise him which isn't good for anyone involved. Good luck & congratulations on your beautiful baby, hopefully you can learn more about yourself & grow as a woman with his support but if that isn't possible don't stay because you have a child as they will pick up on it trust me, you can still be amazing parents but if you start to hate each other that affects your child. This segment brought me to tears. I cried when she cried. For the Same reason. Oh how I wish what I know now I knew then when I was her age. My experiences had a major affect on me as I got older. I had nobody to tell me about life’s woes either. My father unfortunately passed on from cancer back when I was 14. So I navigated some things on my own. But all praise due to my God who has seen me through. I’m a better person & have a stronger spirit/feel of discernment because of my experiences. She’s such a beautiful girl. She can do bad all by herself. Great advice uncle Steve!! Young women need to hear this!

I was 19 when I got married the first time. I didn't even know who I was as a person. You "think" you're an adult....boy was I wrong. I've told both of my girls - 21 & 17 - WAITING is not a bad thing. Not having a boyfriend in NOT a bad thing. Grow to love yourself, to know yourself and be content in yourself before you go and bring someone else into the equation. Good advice (as usual) Steve!

@3:38 So touching - Steve should write a book for young women who grew up without their dads or a strong male figure in their life and tell them things (Lessons) that he would tell his daughters about how life is and what to try to avoid. Qualities that make you a good person and a strong woman. What to look for in friends and the way you should be treated by a man etc. There should also be a guide for you men too teaching the strong values and life lessons.

I'm 47y/o. I have a daughter that's 30. I was married at 19 and clueless. She should take her time and live life. Don't be wreckless, but enjoy. At any age social media CAN be a distraction in a relationship. At some time a old friend will contact you at some point. It can be harmless, but hard to explain. I don't always agree with Steve. But he's right. I wish her the best. Our daughters needs the love only a father can give. PLEASE JUST A PERSONAL OPINION!!!!

Oh to be 19 and in love again... it feels like he is the only one in the world. And no matter what advice you get, you tell yourself "they don't know what this feels like!" Now over the age of 50 I can say I am so glad I learned not to settle. To have standards. I could have settled and stayed with a guy that never wanted to be seen in public with me. Or stayed with a guy that kept telling me to change. Or stayed with a guy that played mind games 24/7. She will need to learn, and it is best at her young age, when to stay and when ti walk away.

Baby, don't settle for less than you're worth! Take this from an older woman who's in her 40's, listen and take to heart what Steve is saying. I'm not taking your side neither your boyfriend's, but this isn't a "relationship". It sounds like you care for him or love him more than he does for you and it's one-sided on your part. You may not want to hear this, but I've been where you've been. You're only 19, baby it's not over. Focus on you and your career. You all are arguing for what? Letting go is easier said than done, but eventually he won't even enter your thoughts. The people who are blaming your weight for this relationship problem, I'd say don't listen to them because if you accept this as a reason why you won't have a successful relationship, you'll miss the person God really has created for you. Your "boyfriend" is showing you how much he respects and cares about you in the way he's treating you. You all are arguing probably because he really wants to break up with you, but maybe doesn't want to come out and say it if he hasn't already. Sounds like you all aren't mature enough to be in a relationship anyway. Maturity has nothing to do with age, it has more to do with how to learn how to handle yourself and situations which comes from experience. I don't want you to think all men are like this and become bitter. Love yourself no matter what, do what's best for you, let God love on you and show you how much you're really the apple of His eye!

When she said he was talking about moving in with her this coming March. I yelled at my cellphone screen "no, you better not. If he's acting like this and talking abou living together, think about how he's going to treat you when y'all cohabitating". Young lady, nope. Concentrate on your education. Once you have that BS., you'll see the people you attract into your life.
