I kinda feel like the pandemic should be named "The Rise of the Resellers" :) I used to sell action figures online back in the late 90''s and earlier 2000's. I gave that all up but lockdown came around, I was looking at all the toys I accumulated over the years and realized I didn't need them anymore. After all they were just taking up space in the attic. So I just started listing a few here in there but now I am back into it and totally committed to this side hustle.

About listing mobile VS desktop: I create listings quite similar to your method, bouncing back and forth. I mostly use mobile for images, but much prefer a laptop for nearly all other steps. Usually done in batches, and I may not be particularly fast but that's ok. When I go too fast, tend to make mistakes, and prefer to slow down and get it right the first time.

Oh man, I need your app! This is going to my downfall if I don’t get to work! Love your videos!

What I'm curious about is how I could keep track of and log an item that I am splitting the profits on with somebody else. I'm not sure how to go about recording it properly. Thanks! In that situation, i would just adjust the cost of the item to reflect the split. So if the item cost $5 to buy, and sold for $105 leaving you a net of $100 that you split in half with someone else, I’d adjust your cost to be $55.

I believe I heard you say in another video that you are in MO and I’m not far in the South/Central Illinois area. For some reason it is encouraging to see someone doing well in the Midwest. I'm happy to know I'm not the only one that uses both a cellphone and desktop for listing. I find that the streamlined interface of the ebay app makes the actual process easier but when I have a lot to add to the description a keyboard is just faster and the AI feature does not help that either. Also, I struggle with keeping my records up to date. I only have about an hour a day to put into my ebay business so often shipping and listing take up the bulk of that time and it just piles up. I'm looking forward to hearing more about your app, it could be a big help.

Definitely interested in the app you are developing. Was also wondering how you handle cost of goods on bulk buys? That's the hardest part for me to manage. If I buy 1000 trading cards or 7 trash bags of clothes at a yard sale, how do you track that?

So if you buy a bag of 100 shirts for $100, each shirt gets assigned to the same bulk lot; you give the bulk lot a total cost -- in this case $100 -- and it'll split the costs evenly across every product in the lot, so $1 per shirt in this case. (Or you can assign the cost to each item individually if you don't want to split things evenly.) Then you can track the performance of that bulk lot over time to see how many have sold, how many are left, what your net return is on the $100 purchase, etc. And all of that data gets ingested from eBay in realtime when things sell.

Yes, the app is available now. flipwise.app has all of the info, and you can use it no matter how big or small your eBay business is. (You do not need an eBay store subscription to use Flipwise.)

I am only a small / casual / part time seller but I am already over the spreadsheet lifestyle. So I would be happy to beta test this application and be a customer for it when its ready. Will the app be free or at least have tier levels based on how big of a seller we are? Also, I love your videos but I would be interested in seeing your listing process, as I also use both Mobile and Desktop for listings. However, I would love to see how you do market research or how you specifically price an item. Like do you try to undercut the other items on the website, do you price higher, do you price higher with free shipping or use fixed rate. I would love to see the thought process of how people actually price an item.

I don't think you can change an active listing from auction to buy it now. Best way to do it is end the listing and relist using the "sell similar" function, change it to buy it now, and then relist.

Question for you sellers out there! What's the best resource for supplies, specific boxes! What is the most common box everyone uses for shipping? How do you go about packing and shipping? I have only been doing this about 6 months and have had a FEW underpays in shipping and a few overpays. Trying my best where possible to prevent this! Any tips from anyone else?

I buy my boxes locally to save avoid shipping costs. Most big cities are going to have a box supplier. My common sizes are: 18x16x6, 12x12x12, 12x12x6, 10x6x8, and 8x6x4.
