Great explanation. I know some guys in our club think AS3X and Safe is the same thing. Now I will tell them to watch your video. AS3X = Artificial Stabilization 3 axis.

Yeah a big Balsa and Pine model does not need A3x their so heavy the wind does not matter as much. But these little foam planes are so light the A3X is great to help with the wind to keep the plane dialed in. A3x does not keep you in the air or is any kind of bail out.

Thank you so much for the reasons to use and how to taper off SAFE. Any tool is only as good as your understanding of how to use it properly. Stay SAFE. Pun intended.😁

FG, thanks so much for your videos. I always learn something, as well as receive some affirmation and confirmation of my own discoveries. Funny thing happens when I'm out there flying with someone else. My concentration gets distracted. As a result, last week I totally forgot the SAFE switch and again ended up doing more repairs. Good stuff. Do you share your first name so we don't have to call you fat guy? Keep up the good work. Love your videos brother.

If you switch your plane into safe mode doesnt it also limit your banking too while in safe?

VERY MUCH SO. SAFE mode will not allow you to get the plane upside down or in any attitude other than making big wide circles. That is the purpose of SAFE though , to keep new piolt in the air and not picking up pieces. SAFE how ever does not control throttle so too slow and you will come down and have a control descent but hopefully in the direstion you want. SAFE will not steer the plane.
