No way, they understand its purpose in being a resource sink meaning it’s the only thing that’ll make players grind more even if they can keep builders busy. They understand how absurd the cost is though for a wall piece and how it’s agreed by everyone. So it’s just good marketing, I doubt they want to reduce the cost.

Level 17 Walls must have a lava effect which damages enemy troops similar to a lava launcher or flame flinger. Atleast it will make some sense to upgrade them.

Th11 and up is when the pain really starts, especially when you max absolutely EVERYTHING before moving to the next th. It’s worse when you’re trying to unrush.
