@@ostrariI think there are three things : onyx yin and yang (they're two, one black and the other white, they're each their opposite) Infinite (the way they're moving together makes the shape of the infinite sign) Now we have to understand the meaning of all these things together.

Umami tracks make me feel something I don’t quite understand. It’s like having an existential crisis in a room with a stranger, but it’s ok because you’re holding hands. You can’t talk but you know they’re having one too.

Ying and yang, chaos carrys a spec of order, while no ammount of order will cancel out the existence of chaos.

This is truly beautiful, the sounds on display here are next level! All while keeping that Hexsystem feeling, marvelous, well done!

I love how the scrubbing is so well lined up that hovering, the snakes just swap places perfectly across the progress bar.

I gave cases away.... Mostly Garbanzos and lentils....

I love the snakes so much. It's hypnotic because so many of the patterns aren't entirely convincing. It's an illusion that is visible enough to keep the eyes engaged but still definitely appears real. The 2d and 3d, are parts that make up the whole, the background being static or dynamic. It's just hard to get my head around and I love it.

Woe, the apple upon your eye. I can only imagine having a conversation an going about all the different facets that give you ability to capture what you envision. What a craft, what a eye. Incredible.

I don't like to compare artist's art too much because I think it can be reductive to the work that each artist puts into their pieces, but upon first listening to this EP I couldn't help but think, "This is Umami's drukqs". Well done, my friend. Moving and haunting soundscapes - I think the acoustic elements add a diversity to the compositions elevating your sound. Thank you for gifting this to us as a freebie. Please keep up the great work!

Oh, man. I watched this video not knowing I would be so moved. I feel like when I close my eyes to this I'm revisiting a place I have only been to once, a place I've always known. A place long forgotten in my dreams.

The current soundtrack to the Arctic hellscape that I walk myself, and my puppy along.

It is a shame this album isn't more popular. I listen to this at least 3x a week, on KZread or Spotify. Umami is one of my favorite artists out there, my INTERFACE VHS Tape arrived the other day and I just admired it for about 5 minutes straight.

Zamenis really feels like a LORN track, and he's one of my favourite musicians! This is great!

I’m a bit late to the party, but I really do love how all of the tracks are linked to a species of snake (Ecdysis excluded, but snakes do shed their skin). Zamenis and Elaphe are by far my favorite tracks out of this EP, with Ecdysis being third, being so similar to ‘An Illusion of Time’. They definitely stood out the most for me. Keep being amazing, Hexsystem.

0.001% of stuff on KZread is worth checking out. And that is probably giving it way too much credit considering the scope of the project. Thank you Umami.

Hey man, I just wanted to say I really enjoy your stuff. It reminds me of Aphex twin or Radiohead circa Kid A, but even more ambient and abstract. Really nice!

I was entranced within seconds. Every time I want to listen i feel compelled to see the animation as well. The constant forward motion adds something different to the feeling of each track.

Big growth and evolution in your sound in this EP. Loving it. Still "Yamaoka-ian" but with echoes of post rock greats like Sigur Ros and olafur arnalds. Brilliant.

I can't be the only one that's noticed that every other preview when you hover over times of the video has the snakes perfectly swap places

The music makes me think of tragic deaths and forgotten lives.

This brings me closer to the ground and to reality. It's sobering. You could sell this as a meditative soundtrack to come closer to God. Every time's a winner with you, man.

I am not a fan and this is the first I have ever heard of Umami. I stumbled upon this video somehow while I was scrummaging through KZread last night. This isn't my usual style of music (not that I have a specific style) but for some reason I didn't click on a different video while listening to this. I began reading the comments while listening and noticed that there were no negative comments which is not normal for KZread comments. As the music played I began to settle into a calm trance like mood. I ended up closing my eyes and laying back while listening. I could FEEL the music as if it was an emotional expression from within myself. I can understand now why there wasn't any negative comments here. This is real. This was created by a musical artist. I could feel it (whatever "it" is). Keep putting this out for all to experience because it is something that is for the world. Your gift is really our gift being moved through you. Before I realized it I had fallen asleep and I am sure I wouldn't have if not for your music. It sedated me in a good way. To sum it up I just want to say Thank you and you are inspirational. This is REAL.

keep animating and producing music, both artistic expressions are some of the most refreshing and unique. your animations remind me of the big lez show as it was done in windows paint so had a similar texture and simpleness to it both making me feel very nostalgic your film to was amazing

I love the vibe you manage to capture in so many of your songs. I've never heard of whether surrealist music is already a thing, but I think it's a pretty good descriptor of this vibe.

I like to think of these snakes as the yin and yang the balance, two sides of a coin but complete opposites that some how work together to keep reality together. And i think we all need some balance in our lives to keep us together

I peep a lot of your tracks here and there (I have the entire interface album on my phone to listen to on long car rides) and I keep coming to the realization that everything you touch is just a banger so take all my money I guess. There's so much more detail in the animation of the snakes than I originally thought there was. At first I thought they were going through one rotation per loop, but the tongues and the dots on their bodies suggest 4 rotations per loop. Their tongues match the other snake's eye color. And I enjoyed changing the way the debris in the background flew by thinking about it differently. I stared at the snakes for the entire 26 and a third minutes, sometimes getting lost in the animation of the snakes and other times getting lost in the beautiful music. When it got to the end I was surprised time flew so fast because of how much I enjoyed it :)
