i am so happy to see an imterest in old school sandbox play come back. it is what i grew up with. i played 1e DnD in high school and still play it to this day. i just got this product today. i am not disappointed.

Are you expected to make up stories on the fly for tiles?

Great question. The postcrawls, if you wanted to use them, give you a hook, a theme, and specific random tables to tie into that quest. That said this is designed to work with a more sandbox style of play, unlike a traditional D&D adventure, where the events that occur are unscripted. Hopefully that helps!

There’s a book with all sorts of ideas and a notepad to right it all down.

I had a little luck using the notepad and tiles with Forbidden Lands as the meat of it. Bloodmarch is perfectly horror themed for Halloween!
