Oily pans are all "nonstick". If I want something that heats up quick I'll use carbon steel. If you add oil you have to wait for the oil to heat.. and once it does, it's even heat in any pan! :o

Not exactly. Some of it becomes a bit embedded in the material, similar to a cast iron pan. If you have to scrub it or you use the dishwasher, then reseasoning it is definitely a must do, but that is quick and easy. For most items like some eggs or grilled cheese, a rinse and wipe should do you.

Does washing Hexclad in the dishwasher (a stronger cleaning), which the product claims is safe to do, unseason the pan again?

I know the manufacturer says HexClad can be washed in the dishwasher. A lot of cookware makers say that, but then they recommend that you hand wash it. They are just trying to entice you to buy their wares. I would never put ANY of my expensive cookware in the dishwasher because that is such a hostile, harsh environment. I have seen videos of multi-clad stainless steel pans that were repeatedly washed in a dishwasher, and they began to delaminate. The layers actually separated and the pans were no longer usable. It is so easy to hand wash HexClad, why take the risk? But, yes, if you do put your HexClad in the dishwasher, expect to have to reseason it frequently. Otherwise, foods will start to stick.

While our pans are dishwasher safe, we recommend hand washing them to extend the life of your cookware. It will ensure that your seasoning will stay intact on your pan too! Sometimes the strength of the dishwasher can wash your pan a little too well! 🤗

With Hexclad they're supposed to distribute heat better than other pans, so you go low heat for what you'd normally do medium, etc. - I'm guessing they just went high heat for something like normal and burned the ever loving s**t out of something.

The directions tell you to remember that they heat and cook faster. Clean the black off the pan using steel wool and barkeepers friend. Then wash really and reseason. It will be like new. Try again with a lower temp. There is a learning curve but they are amazing once you get the hang of it.
