Hexacopter Drone Build Project - Part 9 Here Flow

Ғылым және технология

Welcome to the next installment of my Drone Electronics Prototyping series! In this video, I continue the bench prototyping process by connecting the Here Flow optical flow sensor. This lightweight sensor, featuring a short-range lidar, uses the CAN protocol to communicate with the autopilot, enhancing horizontal position control in GPS-denied environments.
You'll see me tackle the setup working through the initial wiring and connections, performing the setup process in Mission Planner to configure the appropriate ArduPilot settings, and finally viewing its telemetry. This video may have some slow moments as I troubleshoot and figure things out, so feel free to fast forward through those parts.

Will be most interested in your choice of camera when you get there.

Me too. That's the component I'm struggling most with choosing right now. Any suggestions? I've been looking between the gremsy and siyi ones. I'm almost leaning towards a cheaper siyi a8 to start, and then upgrading to a siyi zt6. The siyi zt30 looks really nice...but it's pretty pricey.

@@timarcher52 I'm looking for something that I can use to experiment with building modeling and photogrammetry (and of course fits in a hobbyist budget) . One needs a lot of pixels and low distortion. That leaves out all the popular FPV cameras. I really liked the SIYI and almost bought one, however the camera has only 8k pixels. Finally being a super tinkerer, I have decided to add a raspberry pi companion computer, and go with the raspberry pi hq camera with 12k pixels. The easily available 6mm lens gives an acceptable narrow field of view (and low distortion), but there are some longer focal length lenses that are less available. I have a cheep 3 axis gimbal from Alliexpress that I am going to try. ---- Happy Bilding.
