Facts! EDM trap era was going crazy in 2011-2014 that was golden era of it

it made a boom around 2001 but it has boomed again more recently around 2011-12 and is continuing to get bigger

Same thing happened to me. You've been listening to hip hop and EDM for a while and then stumble onto Trap EDM and as you start looking into it see more and more so it looks like it just started expanding. I still think trap will take over everything its too sick not to.

Trap music started as southern "gangsta" music. The EDM form of it is just the rap beats and tempo with Electro sounds added. You guys can quit arguing now and just learn a little bit. There's really no argument. Just enjoy the shit for once.

Well more southern "trap" music as in songs about dudes who hustle d out of a trap house. "Gangsta" hip hop has more of a NY/east coast connotation with more soulful samples, as opposed to the southern minimal melodies with deeper baselines. But yeah it's just pretty much trap beats with some synth leads.

No he's right, trap was around in 2000. It was just a little different styling than the trap that's getting big now. This kind of trap has more EDM mixed in, where as the original trap was found in songs by T.I and Three 6 Mafia.
