Dingousopp The only issue with IV was massive overhaul of mechanics - some of them really, really good, some of them really, really bad. But when compared with all the shit that went on in non-3DO games, there are NO issues whatsoever with IV. Plus it had EPIC campaigns and music that never before or after was so damn good in entire series. Seriously, if the game ever had a chance to be properly done (it was rushed thanks to bankrupcy), it could end up with better legacy than III.

Adam Kalla Glad to know at least SOME people find fighting heroes a great thing instead of calculating how hard they can break the game by all-hero army. FINALLY heroes were something more than just a way of providing flat bonus to stats of units and wearing items for more flat bonuses. Hell, items overhaul, to make them more important than just +m to N was great too. I never truly understood why poeple are angry with all those improvements. Sure, there are many issues with vanilla AI and certain things are outright bugged, but come on! As a game created as swan song of a bankrupt company rushing it for sales, this is pure epicness.

There are many things that some players didn't like in Heroes 4... but I think it was unquestionably the best of the franchise in the field of music

But Heroes IV has the BEST MUSIC in the whole series. 97% of Heroes IV looks great, but the 3% that kills the whole game is the siege combat. Why? 1. There is no catapult. (Except it's an own neutral unit) 2. The attackers can't shoot over the walls, but the defenders can. WTF? 3. It's really hard to understand how long the creatures can go. :)

He's not a genius, just a thief who steals songs from other composers and claims them as his own. He stole this song and a lot of others from the Complete Celt library. The songs that he composed himself are all shit.

I'm 25 but still listen to this theme. HOMM3 was my first computer game, and HOMM4 - first game I installed at my computer. It was damn.....18 years ago lol

This so totally makes me think of a paradise island that you find when exploring deep blue seas, where you find loads fo treasures, best drinks and amazing mermaids. Uh the fantasy world. You will always have place in my heart

I would choose maps with a lot of water just to listen to this

Гаулода полумертвого из четверки почему-то все запоминают. Вообще все герои интересные, но он, Элвин и Тауни Балфорт - как книгу читаешь. Четверка вообще одна из самых настольных и продуманных по сюжету и сложности геймплея стратежек. Жалко что ЦА нужен графончик и изи то плей- хард то маста. Так как дофига в четверке не очевидных вещей и слишком пожирающая всё РПГ составляющая когда пак героев после раскачки превращался в пак оф дум.

The airy sound of the flute weirdly reminds me of the working sound of old-fashioned window air-conditioner, which was there in my room, on a hot summer day rumbling and blowing cool wind above my hair while I played heroes with my primary school mates. So nostalgic...

This is the same song that plays at Pirates Of The Caribbean game from 2003! With a different tune but its the same! And its so beautiful!

HOMM series is why I have become a game composer myself. 4 was the best imo, not as a game but the music and the atmosphere was on another level... Wish the AI was a bit better :) This is my childhood here that's still alive hopefully somewhere in my music!

@@inferionemperor5219 Actually, while samples and general theme was taken from AMG library "Complete Celt", basically just 2 samples "Bayside Waltz "and "Across the sea" mixed up, still we should appreciate, that Paul Romero while creating sea theme kept updated his sample library, taped "sea" in search engine in his sound mixing program and has good enough taste for music to choose and mix up them correctly. Still, creators of samples and bitmakers made marvelous job as well.

Heroes 2 is my favorite for nostalgia purposes. It's a great game, too. Heroes 3 and 4 are excellent as well. Overall, I would agree that 3 is probably the best.

This fucking tawny balfour and pete. I hated his campaign. We had 2 shitty pirates at the beginning, 13 points in attack, and we had to take a large map with more than 6 castles.... with level 12 maximum (difficult to become a good heroes). I spent at least 20 hours before winning the first mission

The music combined with the storytelling made this my favorite Heroes game.

Heroes music made me wonder if I'd listen to it if it weren't associated with the Heroes game. You know, if this music didn't have a nostalgic value and wasn't associated in my mind with a video game that I like. Me too. The nostalgia i get from listening to this. The memories of a 6 year old commanding an imaginary army,finding treasure and battling enemies. And finally:this song :)

They discuss just music, and have no fuck about gameslol 3 - is perfect gameplay. game-icon. The best homm. 4 - it's so athmospheric than I can meditate near it.Whole game, not just music. And don't even dare to say that i'm not right there.

Have you played Sea Dogs 2? Maybe this track makes you nostalgic because of said game, which used it in taverns.
