    Totalmente de acuerdo. Yo diría que incluso hubiese ganado a mí ídolo, Ma Long en su mejor momento cuándo se enfrentaba con Zhang Jike, en partidos inolvidables y únicos. Fué el momento de Ryu invencible. Jamás he vuelto a ver algo similar, este es uno de los encuentros más importantes del Tenis de Mesa, sin duda alguna. Si hubiese sido de otra forma, este partido hubiese sido la final de las olimpíadas. Si Ryu no hubiese existido, JO Walner hubiese vencido al súper Whan Hao, Waldner iba dispuesto a todo, y a ganar el título sí o sí, con más hambre que en su juventud. Soy un viejo jugador de tenis de mesa, y sé que esto es verídico al 100% o >. Es más, para mucha gente, J.O. Walner fué el ganador de estos juegos. Nadie contaba con ese gran adversario Koreano, tan cerca de la perfección, de la elevación del Tenis de Mesa de la Tierra a los cielos !!!

    Ryu proved to be too fast for Jan Ove Waldner. I believe this was the first time Jan faced Ryu in competitive game.

    They played once in the 2001 Swedish Open but Ryu¨s serve technique was totally different in the early 00's.Actually,he worked secretly on his serves just before the Olympics and took everyone by surprise.The Chinese described his serves as ¨lacking deception and variety¨ in their 2004 WTTC teams report only a few moths prior to the Olympics.

    @@heighhom1517 I believe it is a stress relieving mechanism. As long as it is within boundary, empire would not do anything about it. Of course, it is a subjective things to judge but athletes also need to be mentally strong.

    Definitivamente Ryu estaba extra duro de roer. Pero hay momentos de JO Waldner muy buenos. Increíblemente Ryu llegaba a todas las bolas imposibles y esto acabó desanimando al oponente.

    What amazing footwork when reverse bh wasn’t invented yet. PHers should continue to use FH + topspin even today.

    Waldner played quite well from the deep but near to the table he was just not able to match Ryu.

    Waldner beats all the top chinese players with ease, and that means the best players in the world. But he usually have a hard time against any other countries players. It's a little weird
