@@davidmorales4170 because it's not measured in diamonds - what's the diamond to sand conversion rate? Would it change? who would determine that? (Doc uses sand as his currency in his shops to protest the Hermitcraft changes to sand duping, so people have to pay using sand to buy his items, so he'd never hit any of the 'X total diamonds' worth of sales' levels)

What about trophies tracking the diamonds spent? This could incentivise not only to sell stuff, but also to by and therefore helping others reacjing new trophies, while getting a trophy oneself

That's a great idea. Maybe the trophies for number of diamonds spent can be free. It will definitely incentivize hermits to put diamonds into the economy. Or they can cost money but after the first person reaches the highest trophy level they get all the diamonds spent on the spending trophies. X can keep the diamonds for the earned diamonds trophies.

X, I can't tell you how much I love hearing Soulside Eclipse in your videos. I've been listening to the album on repeat (using Apple Music) while I'm working. It's pure epicness.

This is such an excellent idea. Every season, Hermits collect diamonds like paupers, hoarding their riches instead of spending them, making farms that make the Shopping District redundant. Hopefully this helps with that issue.

X is gonna have a hell of a time trying to pry a trophy permit from the cold dead hands the permit office

My thoughts exactly!

I saw joeHills' perspective this morning, and, I gotta say, seeing this exact problem occur two seasons of hermitcraft in a row got me thinking someone should solve that problem. And then I remembered, I'm someone! So, I wrote a lightweight, quick and dirty datapack to address this one particularly niche problem. It checks if there is a wither above a certain height, and if there is, it teleports the wither directly downward every tick to perfectly zero out its maximum upward velocity. And, sure it's quick and dirty so someone else, or me with more time on my hands, could probably manage a much better version. But! It's dirty and quick, which means the pack is already uploaded to modrinth and pending review. The niche problem has found its' first niche solution; things can only get better from here.

It's a neat counter-troll: if you don't charge diamonds for your goods because you're miffed about losing your sand-duping privileges, then you can't get a trophy for diamonds earned. 😉

That's a great concept, and I think it will additionally help (along with the permit system) to make a really great shopping experience this season!

13:51 I think I can see the real reason Xisuma built the shop next to Grian's permit office.

Right, I feel this pretty much confirms it. Season 10 is the "HOA Season" with the Ministers, and now we're looking at what will effectively be Corporate In-Fighting, trying to compete for better sales within departments, in this case, Permit Collectives, as well as competition between Collectives. The war this season will be truly bloody, and I am looking forward to it.

Hindsight pro-tip for that flying Wither: use levitation potions so that you can basically hover in front of it for multiple hits before having to rocket away and reset your position.

In the clip with the autocrafters with bamboos, if you put a hopper and a chest to store more parts, it will also get the stone block used to balance the quantity. You might need an item filter to do so (or just don’t use the stone blocks).

@@TheThursty100 the stones is so that you don't have too many (who needs 64*27 bowls), and the reason that it stops even when the chest isn't full is to balance out the supply - otherwise you'd spend forever for the 1728 bowls to craft and you wouldn't get any of what comes after. (at least that is my understanding, I watched the same video you did) (I agree on it not mattering if it runs to full - maybe they'll be removed once they all fill to their current capacity)

The X in the title intro was directly over "Xisuma" as written on the Nether portal. Perfection.

I remember such a fight on a server I played for a long time... We were 3 and totally failed to kill the wither. We did manage to lure it 1000 blocks away to an uninhabited area where it still hovers 2000 blocks over the surface :)

That's neat. You've basically made a Chamber of Commerce. People usually think that's a government department of some kind but it's actually a private organization which exists to promote business in a city or town and policies to encourage commercial activity. Kind of makes sense putting this near the government permit office though since it tends to work closely with local governments.

now when they send in the diamonds to get their play buttons, i mean badges...make sure you don't fulfill those orders too quickly. paper work takes time you know :P

You can make a little trap around the top of the mob farm to get rid of the climbing spiders. At the very top of the farm, extend the wall up one block, only on the blocks immediately adjacent the wall. Place a sign below each of the new 1 block gaps, then fill the gaps with water. The climbing spiders hit boxes will overlap the water and they’ll drown. I used this in a cave spider spawner farm to fix the few escapees, and it works a treat.

I wonder if Grian will lock down this shop for „selling products without permit“. Then Xisuma will have to sit though the music

Having seen Tango's and Gem's difficulty with getting the wither to move, and this footage, I now believe the Wither's pathfinding may be bugged in the current edition of minecraft.

Watched that fight against the Wither on Wels' episode today, and I'm starting to think that maybe the code for the Wither AI may simply be broken somehow. Tango had a similar issue with a Wither in an underground tunnel, and it refused to move forward but would climb and sit still more than anything.

Isn't it supposed to do that? In the first half of the fight it tries to stay above the player (which is why open air fights tend to end in the stratosphere - the player flies up to escape/get a better angle, the wither rises up, ad infinitum)

@hihogandalfaway Yes, however, it used to pursue its target as well instead of floating away aimlessly like a balloon. It was a menace that destroyed everything in its path and targeted everything that moved. Now, it seems like it's driven by someone who's spaced out at the controls with their finger on the "up" button.

I absolutely loved that timelapse music, always have loved "simple" guitar solos, no lyrics just straight instrumentals.

Love the texture work on the build today! The use of copper with brick is super clever, I love how it looks!

Oh, love the idea of tracking and trophies. It'll definitely enter in a bit more cheeky content, but its also neat to see what gets hit so hard for resources during the season. And yes.. minecraft has a way of no matter how organized you are, it actively fights against you about it heh. Nice guitar timelapse too. :) Lotta talent and heart packed away in Doomguy.

when you were falling you were at y1000 at 1:27 when you were in line with the top of the beacon beam; the beams only go to Y1000 (as well as their effects)

One way you could avoid permit issues would be to make this a free service / fun competition for everyone, instead of a shop? So maybe the entry fees are put towards a prize fund instead of profit

This is nice because it directly contradicts docs pettiness about the sand.

This season has been the most chaotic by far and i love it

I love how what I thought what would be bad for the server economy (no competition on commodity items) turns out to be an incredible way to spur innovation in a whole new way. I love it!

I recreated your bamboo farm in Creative. I used a daylight detector, powering a piston and observer, which retracts the block connecting the clock to the farm. Thus only activating once every sunrise

I always love your timelapse musics so nice to listen. Also the build looks really great I like the vibe.

R.E redstone supplies - do a "hero of the village" farm, so much more satisfying than a stacking raid farm (although not quite as fast) but is significantly faster than a witch hut farm. Also it's the only "renewable" source of lapis + chainmail outside of villager trading (as far as I'm aware)

You should make a higher earner trophy where the person who has made the most diamonds holds it and it constantly switches hands, encouraging people to outcompete each other even more

i love xisuma posting every other day, i started watching hc this season and cant believe i never checked it out in earlier seasons!

Loophole is the first thing I thought of, funnily enough, for the trophies. With fully automated and mass produced shop supplies, two hermits could just trade diamonds back and forth indefinitely?

For the Target design I would use repeaters going into blocks with a redstone line in the middle, same effect with less complexity if it works.
