Once this ends, it's time for the etho/iskall VH series where Etho is on fragged and yet iskall always seems to have harder vaults than him

Getting 5 Iskall videos within 2 days (which feels like 1 day because of messed up sleep schedule) is insane

New year's eve messed up your sleep schedule too, huh?

You need to turn off auto splitting for the rainbow furnace. It actually makes mass smelting slower, because spreading out inputs over all slots takes time. It is faster to just put 6 stacks in and let the furnace smelt the entire stack at once on each input slot.

I cant believe iskall is going to update cake vaults. He should have talked about it

You know what we need on these videos? A pointer that tracks where Iskall is looking when he opens his inventory/equipment stats. The speed at which this dude analyzes information is superhuman

I'm going to legitimately be really sad when this ends. I've been loving it.

"You're supposed to be able to complete every elixir" - ever since level 40 or so I've found elixirs tend to be really difficult (I'm about 65 now). Elixirs used to be free completions at lower levels, but to my surprise I've found I have much better completion rates at monoliths and guardians than I do at elixir. (And yes, I have been paying attention to and focusing on whatever gives me the biggest purple orbs). I thought it was intentional that they get less completable, but if the intention is to be able to complete every elixir, I think the tuning might be off slightly?

Yesterday I completed my elixir bar in 6 minutes and then looked for a lodestone for 19 minutes and then escaped. It was my most frustrating vault by a huge margin xD

Even at high level (up to lvl 100) elixirs were almost always completable for me. Sure, occasionally you won't be able to (whereas you can complete 100% of monoliths and guardians if you focus on it), but it's always been the easiest objective since it usually just completes itself along the way.

Now the reason why cooldown reduction feels like that is- For example if you have an ability which has a 10 second cooldown and you go from 0%-20% cooldown reduction, you go from 10--8 seconds cooldown. Now if you have an ability which has a 10 second cooldown and you go from 60%-80%, you go from 4-2 seconds cooldown reduction. Both are 20% differences, however 0-20% is 4/5 of the cooldown and 60-80% is 1/2 of the cooldown, so it feels much more significant mentally and mathematically.

Oh wow, that rainbow furnace is expensive. I can definitely see the appeal with how quickly it smelts things though. I very nearly unlocked that mod myself at one point, but figured out I can basically auto-smelt from storage with refined storage and its importers and exporters, and then the create mod can smelt entire stacks resource-free fairly quickly (though not anywhere near as quick as that rainbow furnace). I mean if you hang around your base for any length of time, the amount of time it takes to smelt things becomes less of an issue when it's constantly doing it automatically, especially without any manual input.

I would love, absolutely cherish, adore, be ecstatic if we got to see the VH SMP crew (HBomb Pete Kara 5up etc) interact with these awesome people. Maybe like a simple team v team trivia event for the finale, or for an extra. Extremely Excited that you are back, I also think that there does need to be a change to the treasure door colors, or even simply placing an identifiable symbol on the doors, ex: A pizza for petezanite. A lot of my issues inside the vault revolve around the colors of the vaults and such, kind of like how amongus has a color-blind mode for the wires task.

A big identifiable symbol would certainly be more colour blind friendly, a game I used to play I think put like deck of cards symbols (heart/spade/club/diamond)on the coloured tiles in their game and it seemed to help a ton.

@@chaosdestructionlove Building off that, there are a lot of ASCII symbols which are available even in SimpleText to account for it going beyond 4, and you could (potentially?) add the characters to the ore names (I don't know if that's allowed in Java)

As for the math 'problem' of getting more cooldown reduction: - the first 10% of a 10s cooldown take away 1 second - the difference between 80% and 90% reduction of a 10s cooldown take away 1 second the difference, tho: taking away 1s from 10s feels like nothing. But taking away 1s from the last 2 seconds of the cooldown basically halves what you have left, which makes it have way more impact for your playstyle.

Watching Iskall and Etho run vaults together is making me miss the Enighmatica 2 Expert co-op series they started a while back. Honestly would love to see them hop back into that world, or to do something similar. This is totally never going to happen, but I dream of seeing them start a GTNH playthrough

Something you could do which has a bit of a niche is a supercut, or in iskallisms, an Omega-sode, that is 12 hours of just vault runs ripped from streams. I like to put on supercuts in the background while doing other things, so a 12 hour vault run supercut would be beautiful.

iskall, it isn't that everyone wants to be able to complete something. it is that everyone wants to feel like they can, having three omega roll scavenge items in a pretty difficult vault just feels massively unfair, like that run was designed around you failing without ever giving you a chance.

iron furnaces is a good option for mass processing of materials and as generators - can turn diamonds into power with the right upgrade combinations

It isn't really math explaining the cooldown difference, but more subjective experience and how abilities are used; and the amount needed will depend on the ability, which determines its base cooldown, and how often you want to use it. Without cooldown reduction you need to wait a significant time to use the ability. When this happens you notice that waiting time. But once the cooldown reduction reaches a certain point, by the time you want to reuse the ability you can so you don't notice it.

Been watching so much vodskall that I didn't know this video came out till 3 days afterwards.

It’s because if you have 70% cool-down reduction and you make it 80%, you’ve gone from 30% cool-down to 20% meaning you’ve cut it down by a third, but from 0 to 10% you’ve only cut it down by 10% so 70-80% is the same as 0-33%

It's just muscle memory for me to hit the like button on an iskall video after I start watching. I got distracted, came back and realized who I was watching and immediately went to like the video- only to find I already had.

I did a bit of quick math in my head, but it seems like it would be cheaper to just craft up a couple tier 3 controllers instead of the T4 one, since it's so pricy for an omega pog for only a doubling of resources. if i remember right atleast. i think the omega requires compressing the unique gems twice over (into a chunk and then cluster), so about 81 of each unique gem (i think 729 in total). feel free to roast me if my maths is wrong.

I started a vault hunters world myself a few weeks ago but stopped playing shortly after. I'm too casual of a gamer to play a gamer's game like vault hunters. But I still love the series and I hope it continues/ comes back after the 24 days are over.

Iskall put the rainbow furnace in the spawn area for everyone to use. It can be a shop or free but having to smelt so much is so painful and i was worth the investment

It's quality content that I love and want to watch, in a bite-sized length that I love. It's the same thing I hope for from next season of hermitcraft: quality content. Not polished episodes like this, but fun gameplay like you have on VODSkall, maybe with a lil intro saying "time to run a vault with etho!" and a conclusion saying "that was great, see you next time!" You should add a alter but it’s an allay and it adds a scav objective and then you might get a modifier to the vault if you give it to the allay

When do you think Iskall will find out that the speed of the furnace is based off of tick rate, and so the netherite furnace is actually 4 times faster than the rainbow?

Rainbow furnace is 16 times faster though? Netherite smelts 4 items/sec while Rainbow smelts 64 items/sec.

Math. 100 Seconds to cooldown an ability. 20% makes it 80 seconds, which isn't really much better than 100. (1.2 more use, but you need to time it so it's more 1.1) At 50 seconds it's 1.5 more use time. Which is 1.3-5. You start seeing it uesd more because it's reliable and will be off cooldown when you need it, rather than come off after you could have used it. Further increments increase this At 80% such an ability is useable in combat once every 3-4 spawners. At 90 percent every 1-2 spawners. Where as at 80% it would be once every room section to a room, and 60% being once per room at best. *This can be the law of numerals. From someone with only basic understanding of math.* Looking at Healing however. 10 percent is 1-2 seconds? Out of 20. 50% is 10 seconds out of 20. And every second off from there is felt. It goes from nice but needs to be used in emergency, to "Hey, I can help you in big fights." 5 second cooldown vs 3 seconds is pretty massive when you're in a horde. *We can call this the Law of Spam. Cause it's no longer a recovery option from mistakes but a valid combat healing, like an instant health pot.* No matter the playstyle, less time and more use chances is always good. *The Law of Reliability. Bringing imaginary numbers down to real time seconds.*

im not gonna lie, please do more 100 days or 200 days challenge stuff, this is a great way to compartmentalize my time, i was like "ohh 24 days, its already been 76, i guess time does fly by." that was a helpful realization moment for me that time keeps passing and i keep doing my best

It would be nicer to use encased fan from create mod to make an omega smelter imagine 2 fan face each other at 16 block between blowing 16 depot each depot have(16/32/48/64) items to process with (7.5/15/22.5/30)seconds (halve the amount of time needed with 2 fan) than 16 stacks of items will finish after 15 seconds with the cost of stress :))
