I think an extension might be required for the series, from the looks of it, everyone is super busy and going away for the holidays, would be a shame to for it just to end, due to poor timing (with life and stuff happening for people) or maybe you guys can say "December doesn't count" towards the 100 days, since visiting family and stuff is very important too.

The luck of finding not only a water source, but specifically a cauldron of water, when he finds out his bucket is empty, is honestly not that useful, but really adds to the vibe of ultimate luck hes been having for a few episodes lol

At 4:00 Iskall made a little comment in this video at some point that hinted to me that he's read the comments and has already decided he's not going to, but just wanted to subtly joke about how many people have said it the last few videos and mess with them a little. I think it's funny, and not outright saying he's not going to in the video means more people will probably ask. Which is engagement for the video, so that's a plus lol

I took angel at like level 60-70, its just kinda nice to have, i dont build a central base really, things are a bit more spread out so just flying around to each of them is nice. also helps immensely with building the underside of things when they're high up

IM OBSESSED WITH ANGEL!!!! it perfectly combines creative and survival for me. it makes building so much easier, as well as moving around. I'm a big supporter of minecraft not being super arduous to do miniscule tasks, and angel makes those small tasks take off a lot of decision weight.

I didn't know that the Cake Vaults had changed since I last saw one (where you didn't know how many cakes you had to find though you could see your progress with the cake bar). I take the Angel expertise. I think it's so worth it but I love building. I wish one block could grant flight to multiple people if they both have the expertise. Right now you have to place it, have a friend pick it up and place it too and it feels janky

Taking that long to speedrun is crazy the chance of Iskall not getting the crake pedestal until room 29 has a 0.523% chance of happening ._. For those curious on how: Geometric probability: Let p be the probability of success and q be the probability of failure, p(x)=pq^(x-1) p(cake on room 29) = (1/10)(9/10)^(29-1) p(cake on room 29) = 5.23x10^-3 = 0.523% (Stats majors don't come after me I'm not a stats major XD I'm trying my best) Enjoy the knowledge :)

On my Skyvault play through, after many of the major changes and quests addition, i got the Prismatic Feather as my first trinket. Im not gonna lie, i cried a little inside going back to the regular play through with my buddy where we didnt have many trinkets for our level because of those major changes and quests... i HATED running vaults for like 15 vaults until i FINALLY got a Prismatic Feather, its movement ability is totally game changing and so difficult to go without once you have had a taste... on the multiplayer world with my buddy i now have a stock of crafted feathers, every time i get a trinket i dont want i scrap it and craft a new feather. Im almost out of space in my gear chest that im almost ready to just put all the feathers in a shulker box and work on filling it completely... lol BEST TRINKET EVER!!!

Iskall you guys should have a community chest with extra relic pieces so other hermits can grab what they may be missing to complete a set

I took angel at level 50 to help me with the construction of my base. It was extremely useful for that, and the only slight problem is that when you are in flight, it takes a bit longer to mine blocks (like it does when you are underwater). For getting around however, Elevators work just fine.

i have never reached level 50 in previous versions, but in the current one i might take it at 55? it's expensive to make but looks pretty fun. yeahhh that one vault is why i bring the lemons. kiwis dont cut it when you greed too far... Love seein all the interactions with other people! You and Stress are my favorite minecraft duo, and that last part was super cute

Great episode as always, Iskall! Loved the dramatic timing of Wels dying during your explanation haha! I took Angel right at level 50. It's fantastic and has made base building exceptionally easier, particularly exteriors.

I actually took the angel expertise since I wanted to build a base on the magic blue mountains (I don't remember the name of the biome), and building around those steep cliffs is really annoying. However, I can't think of another situation in which I would have taken it

Iskall moves everything into his megabase makes it look nice but still didnt move his portal and has to go down and up to it everytime never forget your beginnings omegalul

I have an arcade sky vault world, and I was JUST debating whether or not I should take angel. Like, it would be amazing for base building in sky vaults, but it also feels like a mega waste to take it in light of the entire scheme of vault hunting, because unlike all the other expertises, it can't be used in a vault... and it's the only thing that has a crafting recipe gated behind it, which makes it feel super out of place as an expertise and feels way more like it should be a research instead. (QOL research too, to be honest, because it's only a single recipe and ridiculously expensive, and it's really only a serious buff for building over the void.) And if I do choose to take it and craft the angel block, then it'll equally feel like a waste if I later opt to reset my expertises and take something else more effective for vault hunting, because then I'll have an expensive and useless block collecting dust that I won't be able to use again unless I make another super expensive nullifier and reset things again... I've never felt so conflicted about anything in vault hunters before this... 😩

My friends and I decided to build on one of those flying islands very early on, so taking the Angel expertise was perfect for building on and especially around the island without any problem. :)

You can board up tunnels behind the pedestals to make them difficult to miss

I immediately took angel as soon as I hit level 50. It was my core driving force to get my hands on it during my server time. After I got it, I immediately felt free to work on my base projects without worrying about fall damage.

This series is the highlight of 2023! Excellent work sir long may it continue.

I gotta assume I'm not the only nerd to point this out, but the exp in vault hunters is not 'exponential', it's 'logarithmic' (which is literally the opposite haha). Exponential would mean that it gets **faster** as your level increases!

I take the angel flight at 50 because I'm a builder and creative flight is truly a blessing. BTW the family and friends love vault hunters and the series.

Ive taken angel, but thats because i didnt really know what It would do, but now I crafted one with 2 echo pogs and a knowledge star and I finally found the motivation to build a nicer base with the creative flight :)

Iskall, I think it would be cool to have it so right clicking the artifact stand automatically places the artifact pieces on the board? Similar to the drawer controller. Maybe add some particles to make it seem more epic, I mean my understanding is that it is basically THE end game goal.

I recently hit level 50 also... and I haven't completed a single vault since xD not because I'm dying, the objectives are just so difficult to finish in time! My first hunt the guardians vault (which I had no idea what it was at first, please add a quest to explain it!) - gave me SIX obelisks lol - as well as a god altar challenge to kill over 20 dungeon mobs, which I was only halfway done after fully clearing two whole dungeons... so it of course failed after I'd only found two obelisks, cursed me with Mana Leak, and then I no longer stood a chance against the guardians ^_^; I really don't wanna drop the vault difficulty to easy, but I'm also starting to lose the will to run vaults D:

I have the difficulty set to "Piece of Cake" and I still can't complete most vaults after 50. Scavenger hunts are the worst for me. I think I've only ever completed 1 (around level 30 or so because it was a super "easy" one - that still took me almost the whole 25 min to complete). I tried hunt the guardians once awhile back and was definitely not ready for that yet. Elixer vaults have gotten harder now too and I only complete the occasional one now (I used to complete 80% of them at first). I finally completed one recently only because I had the hourglass trinket on me at the time. The only vaults I can nearly consistently beat are the monolith vaults, and of course after 50, you don't see a whole ton of those and you can't make seals for them either. This game is rough, even on casual setting and easy difficulty, so don't feel bad if you're struggling.

Angel block feels so amazing honestly, free flying everywhere feels so much faster and it makes building really easy! Don't see myself ever playing without it : )

Wait just a minute on his VOD called "Vault Hunters HermitCraft: SPEED RUNS!" I left a comment where I was like "why haven't you done cake vaults in ages" and 3 days later iskall uploads this. Coincidence... I think NOT!!

I see the appeal of the angel block and since I play on sky vaults, I may someday take it, but it's one of the few expertises that only helps with overworld/non-progression content so taking it feels kinda bad. Like, expertise already feels so valuable that using one that could be used to make your gameplay so much more powerful feels like wasting, especially now that so many expertises add such unique gameplay functions unlike at launch (like the jeweler cuts, black market rerolls, and double bounties that add actually new mechanics and dynamics instead of just tweaking number values). I think that if I were designing vault hunters, I'd redesign pretty much every expertise that tweaks a number value into one that provides a difference that you can't get any other way (with maybe a few exceptions). For instance, experienced feels so useless when experience isn't super valuable, but what if it was a one level expertise that just made enchanting cost 1 emerald instead of 5, or maybe even free. Artisan could be reworked into giving a small percent chance to not use a focus when rolling gear, which would change from a number tweak to a really powerful and unique feature that wouldn't do much on amplifying and nullifying focuses but every once in a while would really make itself worth it with fundies, chaotic, opportunistic, and faceted focuses. It'd have to be like a 2-3% per level but it could be really interesting. Also, infuser and mystic should either be reworked or combined into one that has both of their effects at a lower level. I think unbreakable, fortuitous finesse, and fortunate are all fine as number tweaks, but some of the others should be looked at

My honest opinion, I feel like Angel should be a QOL research instead of an expertise (still fine gated behind level 50). It's so out of place with the way it has a recipe gated behind it and the way it can't be used in any way for vault hunting unlike all the others. And then if you reset your expertise and choose not to take it again in favor of something better suited to vaulting, you basically just wasted a super expensive block... I have a sky vault world right now and I really, really want to take it, but it just feels bad no matter what I choose to do because of the drawbacks of losing out on something major either way. Easier building vs easier vaulting. What an awful choice :/ Anything else I take or research feels like a win. But Angel feels like a blessing and a curse all the same time.

I didn't take angel wings right away at level 50. I took it a little later at 80 I think. I've been using it just for building on my base which is in a windswept savannah. Otherwise I'd call it completely optional.

I unlocked the angel block after neutralizing at level 100, I wanted it to build which helps a ton, I do wish the radius was a few chunks versus a circular 64 block area. But none the less I appreciate you adding it for help with builds, and it's not the most expensive so my issue can be solved

Ive never taken angel. Never seen a use for it. If i were to do megabases in vault hunters then yeah. But I normally leave that for other modpacks

Angel block should not be an expertise. Gating it behind knowledge is fine. It should just be a QOL mod since it’s really valuable to builders.

I love Angel for building (as I hate scaffolding, too limited and always in your way). I don't think I would need it for much more though. Thus I wish though it would be pre level 50 and would be cheaper to craft, esp. as it's use is kinda limited. And great series! :-)

I was thinking about the abilities and I think there are some specializations that could make sense for some of them, something like dividing the effect of an ability. Fireball could have a single target version with no cooldown, but less mana efficient. Super jump and dash could both have versions that would have smaller range, but would have charges that you recover with time, so you could do multiple small boosts that in total move you the same amount, but spend more mana, and maybe the time to recover all charges would be bigger than the normal cooldown.

on the servers i've been a part of angel was only taken by those who were hardcore about building and it involved a lot of yelling as to how expensive it is to make the blocks

@@Bob_Smith19They only made the Questbook recently. Having this server of hermits, a number of which have never played VH before, is perfect for improving the Questbook. Trust the process, the game is still in alpha at its current update 12 yet it’s still absolutely playable and fun.
