Those statues are awesome! I've been using all this lore to inspire an ancient civilization in my Dungeons and Dragons campaign, with shrines to the Goat Mother, which my players have found out was a great spirit worshiped by the ancient people who rewarded hard work, cooperation, inventiveness, and tomatoes. My players decided to start a tomato garden in game for the Goat Mother!

The finished Perimeter will certainly go down in history as one of the largest, most ambitious, most intricate Minecraft projects ever. Well, maybe not ever. But certainly in Hermitcraft history. Just the attention to detail, the murals, the sheer scope... the Perimeter, Scarland, and Decked Out 2 will make S9 one for the record books.

I wasn't really expecting it to be more than functional (which would have been impressive in its own right), considering the sheer size of it but it's ended up being one of my favourite bases of all time, and actually helped inspire my final project for college this year. Its such a cool concept and an amazing execution filled with world breaking redstone contraptions! With the statues all having unique weapons and some variations in body type, you've got me imagine them as soldiers who lived in and protected the Perimeter. Defended it so gloriously that statutes were built in their likeness, leading up to the Hall of GOAT. Perhaps built where the soldiers were stationed when they were alive, or maybe the statues mark where the Guardians were buried. Some of the most well decorated gravesites in the Perimeter, the goat people might have built them in honor of their great protectors, or because they believed the statues provided safety even after the soldiers had fallen. And there's got to be some meaning for how there is eight statues and eight slimes held aloft. Yet the statues are stood evenly, equal to each other, as if they all fought together, using their different weapons to compliment each other in battle.. the slimes are all holding up the top most one, you might say there is a clear hierarchy, although that might be looking too deep into some decorative slimes.

For the idea of the tomatoes riding around the perimeter: imagine one of those old pulley systems with tons of buckets that you could use to send supplies and such across rivers and canyons. Building a massive hanging rail from one end to the other would obviously be a massive grind of potentially mind-meltingly boredom, and trying to keep a constant stream of slimes going back and forth without constantly unloading and bumping into each other would be... difficult but it *would* look pretty epic (Edit: probably a more reasonable endeavor would be to connect the tomato planters to the skull in the center; maybe to the Hall of GOAT as well, if it fits)

I love the detail level of the new mural. Yeah, it's a *lot* harder to build, but it just feels higher quality too. I really like the goat-man guardian statues. It's cool that sandstone has that much potential for detailing; I hadn't previously realized that. The copper accents are really good on it too. The intrusion of Scarland and Scabland on the perimeter is also funny. Honestly, Ren's castle looks kinda good on the horizon... at least from this distance.

8:19 For a true eyesore, equip Ren with a few double chests of Diamond Blocks. Chunky builds out of Dia and Emerald Blocks are universally considered to be rock bottom taste😎

The great stairs to the elevator look amazing. Perfect statues. Clearly goats are easier to design than dwarves, just ask impulse!

I think you should let the other Hermits come together and make one of the perimeter wall art sections... kinda like graffiti.

It's all very epic and cool but one thing that might enhance the impact even more would be if the statues on the right side (facing the elevator) held their weapons in their other hands. It's more symmetrical and adds to the effect of leading the eye toward the elevator.

19:05 the "axe-like thing" is a actually a quite accurate, albeit coarse-grained, depiction of a pole axe/pollaxe; an axe head on the front, a hammer on the back, and a spear head/spike on the top. Halberds are very similar weapons, though they are slightly different: halberds have hooks or spikes on the back instead of hammers. Though I suppose with how blocky the minecraft build is, it could be a hammer or a hook on the back, so the distinction doesn't really matter (still fun to nerd out over imo). Anyway, polearms - including pole axes, halberds, spears, etc. - were the most effective, widely used, and versatile battlefield weapons used in the medieval period, all while being cost effective because they used a relatively small amount of metal (compared to swords and some other weapons). Polearms are absolutely a great choice for defending the perimeter, so it's nice to see all the guards are carrying them in some form or other.

You should make an overgrown tomato plant blend into Scar’s forest. Also, I think adding some glow lichen on the paths and bridge can contribute to the overgrown nature while adding a little eeriness and abandonment to the atmosphere.

You can build a wall high enough to block your view of Scabland and then decorate/camouflage the wall with forest tree patterns or another mural for the great goat mother.
