Idk if I'd say Doc is necessarily the 'smartest' since that's kinda hard to quantify and a lot of the redstone projects he makes aren't designed by him. They're definitely tough tho and require quite a deep understanding of minecraft redstone

Imagine Grian watching over to his monitor of his camera account thinking “Oh, should probably log in to press the button” but suddenly see Doc appearing from a hole in the ground, press the button, collect all the crowns and disappear into thin air again.

This is why I live Doc his hour long episodes are amazing and extremely entertaining. He's A great friend who's always down to help hermits. I pretty sure he's been involved with multiple HHH projects...aka Hermit Helping Hermits for anyone who doesn't know, but alot of ya'll do erm well maybe lol. Plus I love how he takes time to appreciate us fans in every episode. For example in the form of our weekly fanart appreciation posts 💙. I've been watching "New Life" where the e got paintings it would be awesomeif Hermitcraft had custom paintings where Doc could make a photo gallery of his fanart😊. I love how he takes the time to explain his thought processes and make even a minecraft newbie like me who's only tried playing on my phone like a dozen times think I could make a Redstone contraption because he explains it so well.

The stark contrast between season 7 button and season 9 button is so funny to me, previously Doc slaved over it for weeks and weeks but this time he just uses a machine to create a shortcut for himself. That's called character development people!

Wel in season seven the button was located on the nether roof

You need to install a arrow cannon aimed at the button so when someone presses the button you get teleported to it and the hermit gets murder by a arrow so you can snag the loot without the chance of the hermit that pressed it getting the crown.

@@kaustubhh8466 plus, doc looked at the circuitry. It would still be possible to load in duds (assuming doc didn't look in the droppers' inventories) but it wouldn't be possible to hide a circuit that makes the first purple fail.

​@@neopalm2050 Unless you designed the redstone it is not easy to know what the redstone does... For example, if instead of an unpowered dropper you use a powered dropper to send the items ( so you unpower the dropper and then power it again so its default state is powered) , then you only have to leave the "failed item" in the dropper and if you use a hopper to give the crowns to the dropper, it would be locked, then the purple crowns will only dispense until this first failed item is dispensed. So there is no need for any extra circuit to make it fail the first time

@@GG128_ depending on how you count it, it was between 13:50 and 21:38 long. In my opinion he should cut more; that's a bit too long. I personally don't have a problem, because skipping forward is easy, but I can imagine that some people might watch in such a way that it is annoying to have to do that.

As an English-speaking person, I would really love to listen to some German occasionally and learn some new words. I really like when you name your tools in German and tell us how to say some things in German. It's one of my favorite parts of your channel. I think it's so fun to learn about other cultures, its' so boring and oppressive as an American when everybody just speaks the same language as me everywhere. Even if the whole episode cannot be in German, please don't stop sharing your German roots with us all!

It was great to see that the crowns were attained with shenanigans. 😂 I totally get that point about Minecraft language being English, all of my interests are narrated in English and when I try to explain something about it in Finnish to someone irl, it just comes out as mixture of both languages, there isn’t good enough words in my language to translate the meaning correctly..

The anvil cannon being hit by a fireball is one of the most terrifying things I've ever seen!

At around the 22:15 mark, Impulse hooks his fishing rod onto the ghast's fireball and actually pulls it a bit. Didn't know you could do that and I wonder if something can be done with that information.

Etho may be the king of TCG and Decked Out, but when it comes to the Button... for the GOAT it is as simple as life and death.

I know there’s probably a good reason for it, but the cake being part of the redstone around 31:00 made me chuckle. It fits with Doc’s videos being a mix of technically impressive and silly.

Enjoyed hearing about what it’s like to switch between german and english, it definitely makes sense to have a different association and headspace with each. It’s interesting, there are some words in german that are able to describe things that english simply can’t, but the way they each flow can really make your head stutter when you make the sudden switch if you are used to always using one

I can confirm this. I grew up bilingual German English and switching between the languages is very dependent on the topics I talk about. For example, most of my internet consumption/engagement is in english, so most of my vocab regarding gaming, movies, politics, etc. is really limited for me in German. While more everyday vocab like driving and cooking is really hard in english.

Someone needs to draw Doc, Impulse, False and Cub in Ghostbuster getup wrangling the ghast. :D

As an English speaking person who knows a bit of German, I like it when Doc switches to German to talk about IRL as though Minecraft is a different country. Turns out German Minecrafters see it this way too. So interesting that the hive mind speaks English! I sometimes watch German language YT videos to try to improve my language skills, but never MC vids as I stick to my IRL hobbies for that. I have no need to learn MC jargon in German. Maybe we could get a tomato gardening video in German!!

You'd be surprised how well watching Minecraft videos works to learn a different language. It's how I started learning English outside of school work. Granted, having English be my second language gave me the advantage of not having to immediately watch full videos in a foreign language, but rather have youtubers speaking my native language (German in my case) who happened to have either their game set to English or reviewing mods that are primarily available in English. I think the reason why that worked was that Vanilla Minecraft introduces you to a bunch of very basic terms, like the different animals, common and exotic materials found around the world and various shapes a thing can have, while the casual discussion of these things just in a normal playthrough or even a tutorial results in you also being introduced to the grammar surrounding the various gameplay aspects. Me having started properly learning the language when I was like 10 (i.e. when your brain is still super adaptive to learning new concepts) may have also helped a lot though.

@@remor698 I think you’re absolutely right! Minecraft covers some lovely basic vocabulary for everyday foods, animals and materials. If you add KZread to that you will also be exposed to language structures and common colloquial patterns.

I love the button solution. I had thought of maybe an ender pear chamber to snipe, but it never crossed my mind to combine it with an auto clicker. That whole system was insanely well automated. And the moment where Doc is screaming triumphetly in the thunderstorm is like a perfect evil mastermind moment. It was so good.

I can relate about you connecting Minecraft with English. I'm native German speaking too, from Switzerland though. I read fantasy webnovels. I occasionally enjoy thinking of fantasy novel ideas myself. Nothing ever came out of it so far. But all the words I know from that genre are in English so translating them to German just sounds weird.

"Mother tongue" definitely exists as an idiom in English, more so than it does in German. Maybe it's British/Oxford English though.

As a Persian/Irani person I am very thankful that you make your content in English so everyone can enjoy. However I think Germany is pretty cool language with its special uses in philosophy, engineering and literature. As I am grateful for your (and other German gamers that I have met that treated me with respect) care towards English I want you to be proud of your language even if it seems awkward in some context and situations. (in fact I know from an experience how my mother tongue could sound silly and cringe in some scientific fields :) ) Thank you doc. You are great.

Great episode Doc! Ghast-fishing needs to be a mini-game! So much fun to watch. Game could be played in a large enclosed square and color-coded area with a roof. Pull the ghast to your corner for a point. Could have target blocks on the walls connected to darkness, slow-falling, etc potions. Ghast fireballs could activate them as its pulled around the arena.

Lightning and Thunder were paid actors, lmao. Grats on the crowns, Doc
